I've never had these 10gr JSB V3 slugs expand this much but just wow! This was at 25yds head shot and remained under the skim the smaller expanded one was similar but at 42yds retrieved under the skin in the neck.
I've heard of that before, I guess he ended up putting more antimony in the mixture.Excellent terminal performance. Buy up a bunch of them before the factory changes the formula on you. NSA 24.8gr used to perform like that for me on squirrels. Then somewhere along the way they changed the lead mixture and they don't expand reliably any more.

JESUS! Did you say whether or not you tried the mk3 KOs of either weight out of the 44 you sent me?I've never had these 10gr JSB V3 slugs expand this much but just wow! Yes, I did, the 44 likes these, along with the 13.43gr but those dont expandJESUS! Did you say whether or not you tried the mk3 KOs of either weight out of the 44 you sent me?
Say no more. Awesome news.Yes, I did, the 44 likes these, along with the 13.43gr but those dont expand
The small ones did, but the big one went over .35!Boy....those lil slugs dumped all their energy into the hit! That's incredible! Went from .177 to .30.....
Definitely! They will go the distance too, at 100yds these tiny pills will still put an 8lb iguana downThey should be called JSB Dragon Slayers !
I think Nielsen went a little harder alloy since so many people were starting to buy up all these fpe monster pcps. I still really like using Nielsen for critters that need a little extra penetration like racoons or skunks. They still expand but you need to push them really fast, and you need to have enough target material. Squirrels are too tiny for the heavier slugs to expand well. I use the 17.5g at about 980fps and they pop ground squirrels very well.Excellent terminal performance. Buy up a bunch of them before the factory changes the formula on you. Yessir! They love to be shot at 900fps and like to be shot at 1020fps.Are these coming out of the P35X?
I had a 177 vethat did not like slugs at all but I don't remember if I try this in it. I wish I had, I honestly would have likely kept it, I miss that gun.The 10g mk3 knockouts are my go to ammo in my Vet compact. No more ice picking. Wicked expansion. I never thought my little .177 would be my best slug shooter.
His lead hardness might also be a bit harder, he likely has 3-5% antimony in his batches. For shooting big game, or not caring about expansion, I will always recommend his stuff. I tried his 20.2gr in my impact once upon a time at around 1000fps and they were great but they would always make their way a few hundred feet past the iguana I shot even after cracking through the skull.I think Nielsen went a little harder alloy since so many people were starting to buy up all these fpe monster pcps. Certainly did. Zan did the same, however their new shinier higher antimony formula still performs and expands like crazy even at lower velocities. NSAs rarely open up for me. When I first tried them even the 17.5s would turn into lead donuts. Not since June or July, the accuracy in my guns changed. Lots of sizing inconsistency per batch.I think Nielsen went a little harder alloy since so many people were starting to buy up all these fpe monster pcps. Well , i've also heard the same from @Vetmx And his u2 compact .177 which also has a cz barrel.I've had my best luck starting with a clean barrel and then 5-10 fouler shots . Then shoot until accuracy drops off . The non mk3s and Zan 10gr grouped well also . It has a CZ barrel , not sure if that matters, but I got lucky.
