Either that or he wanted to compare it to his USFT rifle. Maybe even reverse engineer it. Or figure some improvements.. As If that was possible....

Just practiced with the AZ Styer and it is preforming unbelievably well. If I miss, it is Definitly my fault. I ck'd the Pellet Path table it gave me and from the bench it was perfect. I tried without the harness and with and I am about the same in accuracy. It has a lot to do with just pratice, and the thigh rest helps. I ordered a Creedmoor coat but it will not be to me before the Cajun Classic in LA. I will either use the harness or nothing at all.

That's about it CK. The coat is a hard back version that helps hold your back stiff and helps especially in off hand positions. It helps relieve back pain associated with the bending while holding a 14 lb rifle.

The Cajun Classic starts Friday March 11/12/ & 13th. There is a Pyramid Air Gunslinger event with cash prizes. There is a pistol field target match on Friday. The rifle match is a two day event Sat and Sun, with awards on Sun after the match. It is also a Grand Prix event that is totaled in with many other ones and awarded at the nationals in Michigan this year.

It's being held in Bay n Rouge LA. It should not be too far for you to go. It will take us 14.5 hrs to get there. Myself and Chris (AKA NC Airgunner) are arr on Thur the 10th.

The targets are $20.00 for 100 plus the shipping cost too your location...
He has to tell you the shipping and payment method anyway.

The FedEx truck showed up today! Thomas in the House!!
I raced to set er up before the wicked weather started. 
Put a new Leupold 40X45 competition scope on it. With 1/8" target dot and night force mounts.
only took a half dozen shots to get sighted in. Used the slow twist barrel and the JSB 16.2 grain "BEASTS"
Unfortunately the winds were gusting above 25 mph and after one card I had to shut er down due to the rains moving in ---
i hope to get in more practice in the next two days. Trigger is fantastic and the accuracy appears to be spot on--
would have liked to run it across a chronograph but -----
'fill pressure to 2800psi. I was originally filling to 3200psi. But talked to Mike -told me to set to 2800----

'Mike called me while I was at the shooting table. Gave me some really good advice on the rifle,and cleaning of the barrel -
I had pulled a few patches through the barrel after the first card, using Balastol -- took me 10 sighters to get POI back! 
Mike recommended using a couple of dry patches through the match. Then using WD 40 for cleaning the barrel.
unfortunately after the phone call, it started coming down in buckets 😫

Very nice rifle ya got there CK. Looks like it's shooting very well. Nice Card under the conditions you were shooting. If that rifle can shoot like that under rainey weather...I can only imagine how it will shoot in calm weather....Probably as good as she looks :)

CK did you shoot that target rotated 90*? ie 21,16, etc at the top?

FWIW the barrel on my RAW .22 also acts up after wet patches. Needs 6-10 shots before settling down. My barrel likes dry patches before each card, with about 3 sighters before becoming trustworthy.

Seems there is an optimal amount of lead deposit for each barrel/pellet combination. Our job is to do the extensive testing to find this out ;)

Thanks Mike! I'm hoping tomorrow is better shooting weather---still got a weather system stalled over my area. Coming down in buckets----

Kim - shot the target from right to left -1 to 21 'then next row consecutive.
most definitely each barrel is unique and requires special treatments---
live and learn so to speak ;)

I want to thank Paul Stakun for putting on the FLUBR BenchRest event.
Was sorry to arrive and find an Ambulance parked out front, administering first aide to Paul. Apparently he and his wife had gone out to eat the previous night and developed a bad case of food poisoning? Lots of really nice people showed up from as far away as Yullee Florida and maybe even farther. Lots of high end rigs and even an electrically/ actuated solenoid trigger--Thomas rifle. Lots of feinwerkbau rifles and a couple of Rapids-- even a spud gun ( USFT) rig , although I can't Remember if it was actually used in competition. I shot my brand new Thomas .177 caliber rifle that arrived only several days ago. Topped it off with a Leupold 40X45 competition 1/8" target dot -sight. Used the 16.2 grain JSB beasts--
Sorry that I didn't get many photos - due to timing and some problems with my wobbly bench. The Range officer tells me that they are working on getting concrete shooting tables. After my first card I found out that they had sort of braces made up to jam under the rear of the tables to help in stabilization -- helped a wee bit??--
One gentleman actually shot standing up. 
At any rate I had a very good time,and met some really nice folks-
And hell, in the end, nothing beats a WIN!
