WRABF…..ERABSF…..USARB 25 meterTarget post 11/30/15

CK,

I have two bird feeders less than 5 yards from my kitchen window, and I've dispatched squirrels eating out of them with my FWB-30 and Steyr EVO as well (both 500fps .177 pistols). I've also had the misfortune to hit them in the head at 30 yards with a 37fpe .22 and get to the squirrel only to find it still breathing 'cause my aim, trigger pull, wind read, bad pellet, etc wound up not having a good clean kill. I still use the .22 for backyard stuff, but my woods walking hunter is now a RAW 30 with 72fpe. Haven't had one survive a headshot from that rifle yet.

Good luck to you guys at the BR shoot!! It's snowing here now with gusting winds to 24 mph. I don't think I'll do any cards outside today. Indoor FT practice day.

Peace and squirrel fat grease.

Dade City Fl is a challenging venue, the wind was a swirl 10+ mph, gusts that moved the targets, benches are very challenging so say the least. Everyone shot on equal grounds and fought for every point. I feel that to be successful in this sport a shooter has to be able to adapt to any given conditions. Paul Stakun did a great job making it happen and hope he continues doing it!! Big Thanks to Steve from AEAC coming out and doing his videoing expertise. What a super great fellow and is a true blessing to the sport. AOA came through with some great prizes as well as Treneir Outdoors had some cool contributions.
Here's the outcome of today's match.....
1. Ken Hicks w/ 739-29x RAW Bm500
2. John Richardson w/ 730-22x FWB P70
3. Frank Mendola w/ 721-20x Thomas
4. Paul Stakun w/ 717-21x RAW Tm1000
5. Cliff Smith w/ 706-10x RAW Tm1000
6. Fred Voisen w/ 685-8x FWB P70

Great day with the guys, see y'all soon.
That was Lindsey Matthews with the springer.

It was a beautiful, sunny, dry, but a little windy day at the Dade City Rod and Gun Club in Dade City, Florida for our benchrest match. We had 8 dedicated shooters attend from all over the state to compete in our HV match. Congratulations go to Ken Hicks for the win and Lindsey Matthews was the only one to shoot in the springer class and won that class, of course. Steve Scialli took care of the publicity end of it with his professional video coverage of the match. We hope to see a Youtube video of this as soon as Steve catches up with his backlog of work. While the winds were moderate, from 5 to 10 mph, I judge, they were blustery and changed direction frequently. This made it very challenging for all shooters, even the most seasoned. Big thanks go to Airguns of Arizona and Trenier Outdoors for their generous support and for Barry Bustillo who volunteered his day to be range safety officer. Without these folks, it would be difficult to run any match. We’re hoping that this event will stimulate more airgunners to get into the sport and compete. The camaraderie of these guys is great. Here are the results:
