1 rimfire and 6 pellet shooters for the night match yesterday.

That dang Mike S character seems to be finding his way to this winner's photo every month. He is one of the designers of the target....starting to wonder if he designed in a secret kill zone, one that is MUCH larger than the regular one the rest of us are shooting at. I joke, Mike is a heck of a shooter and a heck of a guy.
Weather doesn't look like it was too bad, although Ben told me he thinks Mike won b/c he was the only shooter wearing long johns.
Average temp of about 50 degrees and max wind speed was 7mph. (lol, wearing long johns at 50 degrees....It hasn't gotten warmer than 38 at my house for about 2 weeks, low a few nights ago was 5!!!, but I digress.....)
Same kill zone sizes and distances as last month, so that would make it an overall Troyer of 34.6, and that's not adjusting for any wind. The highest Troyers were: 1.5" kill zone @ 56 yards for a T of 42 on lane 7, and then of course the 3" kzs at 100 yards on lane 3 and 10.
And the box score....
From the score card, Tony had some equipment difficulties and didn't shoot the last 3 or 4 lanes. Want to point out Steve M's rimfire feat here. He went 18/20 on the long targets. Rare to see such a high knockdown on the "fars" in these long range matches at PRGC. He also only missed a total of 5 shots, 3 of those were offhand shots. VERY, VERY, VERY impressive! (the offhands kept him out of a new overall course record)
As always, much thanks to Phoenix Rod and Gun club for hosting us. Thanks to Ben and Wayne and Mike and whoever the paint crew and set up crew and tear down crew were this month.
Ben wanted me to add that a .25 cal PCP was donated as a permanent "loaner gun." And that gun is always available for anybody who would like to try this out and maybe doesn't have a capable gun yet. Dope and pellets on Ben, what an offer! Cool thing about trying out a match in this way is that most of us will let you shoot our rigs too, so anybody interested can come and see and and get a feel for what it entails, how much fun it is, and even check out some rigs to aid in decision-making if there's a desire to continue competing/participating. Just contact Ben or me a week or two in advance of a match and he'll get the details worked out on the loaner gun.
As always, looks like it was a blast and wish I could have been there.
January is a day-time match, fourth Saturday, so practice up and get ready!!!
