Hello all. I'm new here and just wanted to share my expeirences thus far with my Xisico Sentry .22 for anyone on the fence about buying one.
I purchased mine used from a gentleman on Airgun classified. The price was fair, and some minor tuning had been done. The following is my finding so far.
1. This thing is loud!!! With the factory barrel shroud it measures 97 decibels. An easy fix is to install the barrel shroud off of a Benjamin Trail Np. It takes a bit of fabricating but works fantastically. Noise reduction is a solid 21 decibels. New report is 76 decibels.
2. The adjustable power adjuster has only 4 real settings even though you can turn it many times. Velocities with JSB 18.13gr. Pellets were from lowest to highest setting
1. 673fps
2. 740fps
3. 810fps
4. 860fps
3. The trigger is similiar to a QB 78/79. Adjustment is basically the same. I adjusted mine to a crisp 1lb. 7ounces.
4. Accuracy is very good with 90 percent of the pellets I've tried. Crosman Premier 14.3,
JSB 18.13, and even the H&N Terminator 16.83 shoot very well. Best group at 50 yards with the JSB 18.13gr. Produced a group measuring .28" ctc.
*See attached photos*
5. Shot count is very predictable. Across all power settings. From lowest power setting to highest.
1. 43 shots
2. 37 shots
3. 32 shots
4. 28 shots
All in all this gun is a solid B+ pcp rifle. For the price of a new one from Mike @ Flying Dragon airguns($275 untuned/$375 tuned) you can't go wrong. If you need a backyard friendly option this may not be the air rifle for you unless you have the money and time to either build a shroud or have one installed. Accuracy is good. Trigger is very tunable, shot count is decent, adjustable power settings are nice to have as well.
