New to the site. I own a couple of old 22 caliber pellet rifles...a Benjamin 892 and a Crosman 1400 which I am currently re-sealing. Also have a newer 177 Gamo springer. All of which are relatively loud. I say this because our pointer has become freaked out when I shoot them. Looking to get into PCPs, maybe a bullpup. Any suggestions on a good quiet bullpup. Thanks

Welcome!

I think the most important question getting into PCPs is what is your budget? If you’re looking for something inexpensive and quiet the Unarex Notos is a fun choice. Lots of custom parts and mods available. Comes with an integral suppressor and is pretty darn quiet. Has been known to be pretty accurate but is definitely “entry level” in some aspects. It’s not the most powerful, but is widely loved and can be found for around $250. Along with any rifle you get you will need a way to fill it with air. I’d suggest a decent compressor which will also set you back about $200 or so depending on model and specs. So for under $500 you can get into a Notos with compressor and have a fun “suppressed” rifle. It all goes uphill from there!!!

What is your budget and what will you be using it for?

Hey..thanks for the reply. As far as budget goes, I was thinking $500ish. I have already ordered a somewhat inexpensive 4500psi compressor. Have read good things about the Notos. Also looking at the Beeman 1358, the Benjamin Akela and Flashpup.

Check this site daily to see when they have akela in .177 or .22 in stock again or if you want to jump up to .25 those are in stock. Best deal around . I have both .177 and .22 . Akela refirbs. Don’t forget you’ll need air no matter what. These I would say would be fine with hand pump.

How do you like your Akela? Accurate / quiet? I have vids on them...seem to be good rifles.

Those are good prices...never had a 25....just more tins of pellets in the cabinet I guess!

just got the .177 so prob won’t shoot till it warms up. .22 is backyard friendly without an additional moderator. I was able to pop sycamore puff balls from 40yards standing unsupported. So I find that a good test. You’ll need an adaptor to add a moderator if you want it whisper quiet which I haven’t decided yet.

Welcome, my first springer was a gamo too, loved the gun but I got rid of it because of the noise. Most PCP's are extremely quiet especially with a moderator.

This is the way to go… if not wanting to spend much for first gun.

the 2 I have are indistinguishable from new.
the Kratos ( rifle) is in a short test as accurate as my $1500 gun.
very quiet with no suppressor. The Akela ( bull pup)doesn’t seem
as accurate but again only a short test.
