Airforce Yet More Texan questions. Why the swing in votes?

I'm confused. Would you not get, I know maybe, another shot with them being minimized for drop??? I might be missing the point here. Edumacate me!!
If you regulate a Airforce platform it loses a lot of power say 30 percent...thats the point of airforce is foot pounds and power over most pcp made...If you leave your Airforce unregulated and then tether to your scba tank with external regulator you get max power consistant fps..I get 40 tethered shots off 45min scba tank from 4300 psi to 3625 psi where it drops off regulator..

Sable44 and possibly others.

I posted this a while back, and for me, it made the ergonomics much better, especially while hunting.

The AirForce TexanLSS-CF in .45 is all you need, good bullet selections and very powerful. The barrel shroud/moderator adds rigidity to the barrel, increasing accuracy and making the rifle easier to tune than many of its brothers. You can also replace the aluminum shroud with a High Tech Carbon Fiber unit for increased accuracy. The reason you see such a disparity in the Texans performance is multi-faceted, primarily though, AirForce makes many different models in many configurations... add the human factor of individuals skill levels and all hell breaks loos... lol. My AirForce Texan LSS-CF is a .50 and it will regularly shoot sub-MOA at 100, not to difficult to get dialed in and hit a 12" target at 600 yards either. Hit me up and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

With an unregulated air rifle like the Texan, shot to shot accuracy decreases as range increases. Example; When properly tuned the AirForce Texan LSS-CF in .45cal will give you one ragged hole/8 shots at 50 yards. Increase that distance to 200 yards and when shooting a 12" target your group will likely fall off the paper after the fourth or fifth shot. Properly tuning your rifle is key to air management and accuracy. I have posted info on how to properly tune the Texan for max velocity and minimal waisted air. You may wish to check the post for some good info.

My state just opened up hunting to air rifles this year. I picked up an Airforce Texan SS CF 457 less than a month ago and I am very happy with it. The whole process was a little rushed for me because I always do things last minute, but I got the gun set up in a few weeks to hunt this past weekend. With 350gr NSA slugs I was putting slugs through the same hole at 50yd, and shooting quarter size groups at 100yd. Good enough to take a whitetail. First two shots I can put right next to each other, the following three will drop off. It handles well, it's comfortable to shoot, and very quiet.

With the 350gr slugs I'm zeroed at 75yd, 4.5inches high at 50yd, 4.5 inches low at 100yd.

I'm a newbie myself, but I am very happy with my purchase and was able to take a deer in a matter of a few weeks. 70 yard shot broadside on a doe, she ran maybe 30 or 35 yards, double lung.

I love my big .510 Texan..It does shoot one hole very quiet..But it does break and eat some parts up . Today the Aluminum carrier tube screws stripped out when I went to cock in the hunting shack.. Mine is stock setup.I guess I'm going to have to get African air ordinance metal carrier tube.. The screws stripped out carrier tube definitely ends a hunt lol ..I think I'm going to buy another used Texan to have 2 so I have a back up when one break s
have you considered using a helicoil.. once you put a helicoil in,no more stripping unless you are really over torque and just pull the helicoil out of the aluminum..

The aluminum carrier tube is pretty thin...If im cheap ill just buy another one from Airforce and hopefully it last awile.. The African Air Ordinace carrier tube is made of steel much more durable..But with a price tag of over $200.00 with shipping from africa is pretty steep for me.....

I will do that! Not being to tech savvy, might you post a link?

Maybe try a Rivnut. Made for this situation. Works on airplanes anyway.
I was trying to tell him something simple that most auto parts store and hardware store sells.. but that might work too..
I'm not sure what part he's calling the carrier tube, is it the sliding breach or the main frame..
I only know from my Condor's the frame is thin aluminum.. and you can't have anything protruding inside, so helicoil will have to be cut and installed just perfect..
if it's the sliding breach, I think 🤔 mine is plastic 😳 it's not given me any issues but if it does, I'll either get OEM or a piece of aluminum and make a good one..I do have my own machine shop, but limited time.. I like to keep it lightweight..
I would be interested in knowing what part he's calling the carrier tube??
thank you

course the Condor is the baby brother of the Texan, similar in a few ways and different in others..
they are sure powerful though..

you can totally decock the newer texans with the auto safety, i do it every time i go hunting.
you just slowly start to slide the cocking lever back until you can push the safety, then once the safety is off and you are holding the cocking lever to prevent it moving, pull the trigger. it is now decocked.

Hoping you Folks are up for a couple "what if's?"

I have seen good reviews on the 451 Megalodon. It's a pump action. (and more money!) 8 good shots per fill, excellent accuracy.

And the 357 Rattler. Seems to get Raves as an all around gun.

And finally, is there that much difference in performance between a LSS and an SS Texan? I measured out the length with a tape measure. Wow!

I read a forum post here where the young man, 30 ish I think, wants to buy his "One and Done " gun. He was advised that he was young,
Don't lock yourself in for one gun. Well, I'm old, so this will most likely be the last Airgun.

That's why I am agonizing here, Sorry.

Can someone recommend an article or info on dealing with the heat as I live in OK.

Should I be leary of buying a used scuba-type tank. I'm not into buying a bomb!

TIA
