Yong Heng Battery replacement and air flow

Just picked up a YH from Walmart. The temperature guage is fine for now but when it comes time, how do I change the batteries? Do I have to remove the case and change them from underneath or does the readout pop out from the top?

Second, the instructions say check to make sure the fan is blowing air in the right direction. What the heck? What's that all about? Can the motor start in reverse?

the read out pops out of the top . coin type battery possible 2032. No the motor can not start backwards.More to the point make sure you have good water circulation. I run by temperature, I never go over 52 or so. Careful of the small pipes after running a while, they'll pull the skin off your fingers. These are low output units , just don't get in a hurry and you'll be fine.Oh, make sure you don't try to start the compressor with the" bleed off screw" in tight, always open it to start as the motor mostly doesn't have the power to start under a full load.

The LR44 is a cheap inferior replacement for the 357. The 357 is much better quality and will last much longer. To keep from damaging or breaking the unit I removed the top of the case to replace my batteries. Check to see that the airflow is blowing out past the cylinder cuz you need to remember where it's made never know how someone put things together.
