Anyone NOT run their Yong Heng for a short period unloaded before using it to pressurize anything? If so, was there any known or perceived negative effect so far.
I put synthetic oil into mine and went straight to filling a Daystate 460CC bottle. I simply didn't think about a break in period and so far after numerous fills and oil changes, it seems to be just fine.
There are two schools of thought on break in periods for piston devices. One is slow and easy and the other is "like you stole it."
I recall a model of Suzuki motorcycles that had oil bypass and compression problems here in the U.S. but not so much in Europe. They found the reason was that most U.S. owned bikes were broken in soft. In Europe, most were wheeled out of the showroom and ran hard from that point on. The pistons on those bikes mated as they should with the cylinder walls and didn't leak.
