Yong Heng compressor what am i doing wrong

Has anyone used this compressor?
Each time I fill cylinder (200 bar), when I try to remove the cylinder (un screw) it damages the threads of cylinder as it hold it under pressure. Am I using it wrong? Or do I need a relief valve or something installed?

If I unscrew the black knob, it drains air from the cylinder.

The cylinder I use comes from Hammerli AP40. Picture attached.

There is no valve between the cylinder and this compressor. I have a coupling between the compressor filter holder and an adapter. The coupling then connects to an adapter that connects to the cylinder. Picture of the coupling attached.

Picture of the adapter. The cylinder fits to this.

Try bleeding the drain line before disconnecting

The check valve on the Hammerli tank not working?
The adapter I use (silver) came with this gun. If that is connected to the cylinder, it will empty it. I think that is by the design so cylinder can be emptied for transportation. This is a competition weapon and thus carried on flights.

Since I have this connected inline to the compressor, the check valve on the hammerli cylinder will not work.

You probably need to unscrew the Cylinder between 3/4-1 1/2 turns..
This is to allow the cylinder valve to seal... Then you can bleed the compressor air..
Now the cylinder should unscrew easily.....
I will try this. But it gets very tight at 200bar and I imagine that is when I am damaging the cylinder. They aren't cheap hence the concern.

Did you purchase the air compressor and gun at the same time?

Have you filled the gun and used it in the past?
No. Separately. Actually compressor was given away to me. I used to use the mechanical pump. No issues with that.
I connect the silver adapter that came with the air pistol to the mechanical pump and then connect the cylinder.
