YONG HENG GAUGE ISSUE

This is my 2nd compressor, when I bought it i noticed the gauge did not sit on zero but at 25psi Therefore it would not fill my bottle to 300 bar. 280 tops and it was just over 4000 PSI. No new issue. It made a loud pop. Just once like a back fire on a car, I then stopped the machine. Breifly after that I noticed the pressure gauge would only go to 2000 psi, and there was a hole i did not notice on the side of the gauge. This hole air seems to be blowing out of not letting it go over 2000 psi.

My best guess is there is a saftey release inside the gauge that blew out?

Anyway I bought it on Amazon so I am covered unless it is a quick fix. I did see on Ebay new auto set gauges for $16.

Sounds like the gauge has blown a seal internally. The hole on the side is for filling with glycerin and should have a rubber plug in it. The plug probably blew out when the gauge failed. The units that have auto and adjustable cut-outs don't have fluid dampening but still have the hole. New gauges are cheap and disposable, IMO the auto cutout and adjustable units aren't necessary but it's up to you how much you want to spend replacing it. Sealing the hole in the bleed block with an M10x1 plug or bolt will get you pumping while you wait. The gauge on your gun or tank will probably be more accurate than the cheesy OEM one anyway.
