Yong Heng instead of small compressors with 12v motors.

We both shoulda checked Amazon for the 8mm QD. prime 2 day available could have one Monday for 10 bucks. I will do the same if El Cheapo dies and get a YH pump. I'll be pleased to get a couple years out of mine. Not confidence inspiring that there are no labels whatsoever on it, not even in Chinese. Mystery pump. China is so different, having your stuff copied is an honor, that's what they tell me in China. My Chinese friends do always laugh when saying that.

Ha, my double male showed up today in the mail. I'll go see how El Cheapo does filling an empty 30 min. SCBA bottle. I had best bring some ice down for my coolant tank, I need to put a few drops of jet dry in the water too. I will need to organize my blue ice blocks, I'll have a very full cooler here soon otherwise.
Good luck!

Panzerfaust,
Agreed, three years in June for mine, no problem other than a leaking gauge. Semi-permanent in garage, set-up and break down bucket, hoses, and water pump each session. Don't use tank, just fill guns for home range use. A few other YH positives are inexpensive, easily found parts, good repair videos and power to pressurize post-compressor moisture filters. Caution needed to assure an authentic YongyIheng Pneumatic Company product is purchased, mountains of sub-par clones exist. Yong Heng produces 5 models; Simple, Hardcover, Set Pressure, Auto Stop and Digital. Hardcover and Set Pressure are recommended. Simple lacks Cyclonic Water Separator, Auto Stop is preset at factory (operator can't change) to stop @ 3,000 psi. Digital, OK, but price is up there. WMView attachment 499416
Haha, I probably have a clone, it has auto stop on it , and it works perfectly so far but it has not been preset for 3000 psi. I set the auto stop to 4300 psi and that’s where it cuts off. I really don’t have much in the thing though. It does have that black yong heng metal tag on it. Probably counterfeit tag, but it fills my rifle which has .6 liter capacity from 1500 to 4300 in 3 1/2 minutes. As long as the electric motor holds up the compressor part can be rebuilt. I put expensive oil in the crank case and so far so good. It is also suppose to have overload and overheat protection. It will not allow you to overheat the motor , it will shut down until it cools off. It has a 30 minute duty cycle , normally if you stick to quality lubricant and respect the duty cycle you can get even the cheap stuff to last. I guess time will tell. Thank you for your reply.

Good luck!

I got a one way Male. I did not see one with quicker delivery or else I would have. But who knows, maybe trying to fill these 2 tanks may put my compressor out of commission? lol I forgot who said it: It's Dead already but it just doesn't know it yet! :ROFLMAO:
The only reason my cheap compressor failed was a screw holding the top bearing started loosening up. It caused the linkage between motor and compressor to bind and broke the motor shaft. Take off the outer cover and check screws holding bearings in place. Add some fresh grease to linkage and if it is similar to what I had it might last a long time. I wish I would have thought to check mine. Having a 12 volt option is good. That’s another thing, if it’s one of those that has the power supply for 110 but it’s a 12 volt motor, run it on 12 volts when possible. Those power supply units are too weak and make the motor run hot. A steady diet of 12 volt is the best thing for the electric motor. I’m putting a new shaft on mine, they have electric scooter motors in them, the shaft is a gear driven offset piece that can be changed. That yong heng is so fast at pressurizing that fill line it honestly scares the crap out of me, 😂

Good luck!
I ordered tanks , multiple tanks as I bought one 30 minute tank but it’s 30 minutes at 2216 psi, it was dirt cheap and im going to make an air tank to fill tires and such out of it. Since I can fill it I figured WTH, I wanted to try to make a better airtank than the small ten gallon one I have that will barely fill one car sized tire. I figure a person could fill 5 or 6 from a 2000 psi tank. If not maybe I can make single use missle out of it. Not really , though if it wouldn’t be so dangerous it would be cool to see how far you could get one to go😂🤣😂🤣💥💥💥😂

Panzerfaust,
Sellers often use inaccurate advertising pictures and model names. Auto Stop is preset at factory and has no method for operator to adjust. If you change pressure settings and it's authentic YH, most likely Set Pressure model. Picture of my Set Pressure model gauge, Hardcover model has solid glass gauge face, leaving it up to operator to shut off at desired pressure. Can't speak to what clone manufacturers build nor what they call them. Metal compressor ID plate is fairly common to clone and YH compressors, YongyIheng Pneumatic Co., listed on ID plate, is specific to authentic YH compressors. Clones note, "Made in China," name of clone manufacturer or blank. Chinese authorities are lax with copyright infringement but draw line at labeling incorrect manufacturer, at least that's how it seems. You're welcome for reply, sharing what Biohazardman taught few years back, miss having him around. WM

Well, when Mine dies I may go with the YH.
Got "promoted" to garage when informed nothing that loud belonged inside a home. Wouldn't think YH use in condo or apartment would make for happy neighbors, either. Not portable but fills tanks easy enough. If going YH will be glad to share tips and tricks. WM

Yup, that’s the gauge mine has , goes up to 6000 and so far works well, I set it at 4300 and it shuts down and beeps fairly loud until I turn the main power switch off. I monitor it though don’t leave it unattended while pumping. Honestly I must have looked at 10 or 12 different units online, I finally got aggravated and just picked one that was in the middle just based on pricing. Tuxing makes one just like the blue ones, it’s black and yellow but it’s priced more than any blue one I looked at , it had good reviews , I almost went with that one but finally just selected a blue priced in the middle of the ones I had found. Working great so far!

Thank you Sir. When I make the move I will let you know. I can put it in the Utility room or even the Basement.

Wow, It takes a looong time to fill a SCBA bottle from dead empty! Took several buckets of ice to keep the compressor below 60 c. My 30 minute bottle is now full. Took some messing with the end seal on my fill whip adapter valve, it was leaking at that connection after 30 min. or so. Closed the bottle valve, shut down and lubed the hard white seal on the end, I also tightened up the "collar" around it. No more leaks. I will time 3000 to 4500 now that the leaks are fixed. I reckon I need to go use some of that air. :)

I am now getting used to the New YH. Today I set it up a little different, and it worked great! Filled My 30 min tank from empty to 3400 in just under 25 mins. Never got hotter than 44.7C. I am tickled Pink! lol
I’d be interested in how you set it up, if you care to share. I recieved a bottle today , new fill valve I already got has different threads. This is what happens when you don’t pay enough attention to what you are ordering, lol. Your good news made my day actually , 44.7 is good!

If you look at this Photo, its Post #2 from Worried Man. Ice/Water bucket, Elect Fan and "smaller than shown here" Water Seperators" You need plenty of Ice! I used about #15 lbs with water, and in 25 Minutes it had all just about Melted. The Fan is a necessity it seems as well, It blows the heat away from the cooling fins,. Worried Man and Firewalker and a few others shared great info for us! Good Luck!

PS They also recommend chilling the water and circulating it through the Compressor Before it is running. Mine was down at about 12-C when I first started using it.

Ice will certainly work and minimizes the up front investment but it can limit run time as has been noted. One thing I prefer about my radiator setup (which is not expensive, maybe $30-40) is I plateau at 55-62 degrees C depending on ambient temperature and stop going up. So if I need to run longer I can.

I have a feeling that it won't be an either or situation on compressors for me, however. If I ever want to make a trip with my airguns, the YH would be hard to take whereas a little 12V one would be much easier. My bottle is an old expired fireman's tank so taking it without a compressor wouldn't make much sense. It works fine for a trip to the range but not a several day shooting trip.

The other situation where I see a role for a little compressor is somebody living in an apartment or something without the space to leave the YH set up. It seems it would be a lot easier to just pull out the little ones from a closet or something. But for me with the space to leave the YH ready to go that is not a factor.
