YONG HENG REBUILD PT.2!

You scored! Got mine thru Amazon. Really don't think the warranty thing will pan out.
Walmart put me in touch with the seller, he was like a shady mechanic, didnt know a darn thing about compressoers, he just kept suggestimg I replace various parts. After getting back to Walmart, they told me to take it to a local repair shop and they would pay for it, I refused. Finally Walmart agreed to refund my money, giving me the compressor. I lost the 30 bucks I paid for the warranty. Put a brass plug where the gauge goes and its been running for 3 years.

Found out why MINE would no build pressure after tearing it down AGAIN. I've had it apart like 6 times for my rebuild. Two very minor issues found. The rupture disc had distorted just enough to allow slow leakage, and that check valve just below it had some very small particles that would occasionally work their way between the two mating surfaces and prevent proper sealing. Once I addressed those, we're back to normal operation. Whew !! Was this an exercise in futility. I can now do this blindfolded!! These are something to add to the checklist to look for potential problem areas....

I've checked THOROUGHLY for leaks & can see NOWHERE that air is escaping from. I've resigned myself to getting a new YH if need be. Got over the BIGGEST hurdle (that being the OK from my wife to spend the $!). Now waiting to hear from my friend who offered me his dual cylinder compressor. Haven't been able to contact him & I'm more concerned about his state of health than the damn compressor! BTW, I made another post this morning about the spacers on the piston wrist pin (under "compressor stuff" if you haven't seen it yet). Check it out & give me your thoughts.

I got 3.5 years of great service from mine. Found out I'm getting "gifted" a working, double cylinder, Tuxing type compressor! Maybe my problem is solved! Still, it irks the F outa me that I did everything "right" & didn't succeed. I gotta know what it is, gifted compressor or not! That's just me.
Did you check the anti blast disc? Just a thought. Bill
