Yongheng Compressor en route

Pulled the trigger on a Yongheng compressor from CHON Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. on AliExpress. Decided to go for the auto-shutoff model, 110V.

Also ordered a water separator (aka gold tube) and a couple filter elements from Filter Techs: https://www.filtertechs.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=394&osCsid=8uupdf6his1gcp7j6d6c5kdgg4

I'd like to rig up a condensate drain at the bottom of the gold filter, but maybe it would work ok if I just mount it vertically above the high pressure outlet and use that bleed valve?


 
I have my gold filter in line after the small blue filter ("oil/water separator") that came with the pump. I filled the small one with the same zeolite that is in the gold filter. The gold filter also has the cotton "tampons" on the inlet and outlet side. After filling my new (empty) SCBA bottle, which took a couple of hours, I emptied both filters. The blue one had water and oil in it, in other words, it did exactly what it was supposed to do. In the gold filter, only the inlet cotton was a little damp. The condensate drain on the pump is more than sufficient. Oh, and I am in Florida and it is very humid.

I bought mine off EBay It smoked and heated up the very first time I used it. I contacted the company and they said that was ok the first time. I filled my gun 3 times and it really started smoking and shut down. I pulled the cover off and the rod gulled to the crank. I contacted the manufacture they sent me a new cylinder, piston, rod and seals. I haven’t put it together yet because I am going to have the old rod bored and put a lubricated bearing in it.

dont want to rain on your parade. Hopefully that will solve my problem

Wow sorry to read about your problems! From a tear-down video it was obvious that the piston rod bearing (or lack thereof) was a weak point. Good idea to put in a decent bearing in it since it's down anyway. Hope I avoid issues--seems like a reasonable bet to me given the other compressor I seriously considered was the Alpha Carette, which if I went that way I'd also buy the Alpha moisture separator/filter so it'd be a $1600 package plus shipping. This is a $400 deal delivered including the cartridge filters I ordered.

I bought the vertical filter. It has a bleed on it. I also still use the small one that came with it as a pre filter. Hooked it up with QDs so its easy to pull off and change. This setup, I get little to nothing in my big filter. 



Drain the low psi valve every few minutes. Dont let the temp get above 52C, use ice bottles in the water bucket, I also have a fan on it (I run about 48C). Take a break and let it cool every 15 minutes. If you fill from 3000 to 4500 its should only take 15-30 min for a 90CF tank. About 5 for a small Benjamin size. I changed my oil every fill for the 1st 5 fills. The oil turned pretty dark as it was breaking in. Now I change every 2-3. A gal of oil is about $15 and last about 8-10 changes.



I can send instruction, what valves to do when if you want. Ive had mine for 6 mos and its more than paid for itself.

I don't want to rain on your parade either but those filters are not suitable for the cheap gold filter housing. There is a new gold filter on the market now that was described in this forum a few weeks ago. It is advertised for $80.00 and has a fitted repackable filter included. If I didn't already have one of the old type packed with Zeolite, I would be definitely be buying the new one.

I saw one of these after I ordered mine--this is really what I was looking for and am trying to achieve with my rig. What filter media are you running in the large filter? I think it comes standard with charcoal?
