Sure. The older crown barrels actually had a more standard air stripper inside the shroud. Wouldn't strip as much air as one that is external, but still some which is more than none. As to how much it helps, or how much stripping it does, who knows. But those barrels tend to be extremely accurate. The bore in the end of my superlight shroud was over 9mm iirc, and the liner exit bore is very close to it, so although the shroud is active, I figured it wasn't doing as much as it could to contain some of the pressure. Main idea was to reduce noise signature but figured it couldn't hurt accuracy either. Likely help. But again, the 380mm pellet A barrel has always been a laser. Really hard to tell any change in accuracy unless it's over long distances. Normally I only shoot to about 30 yards. But I've used it and made clean head shots on squirrel out to 70. Mine has a standard circular port, but is bellmouthed to match the .30 transfer port in the gun. Picked up 50fps on factory tune. In the short barrel. Runs about 960fps @ 130 bar with 16gr aa pellets or 930 with 18gr jsb. Both as accurate as I can ask for. Don't know if the in shroud baffle helped since it's always shot so well. I more or less tuned the gun a long time ago to run in an efficiency plateu within its potential power band.
Sounds like you got a pretty good handle on what your gun likes
