I know you probably have many, i personally get a " feel really good " shot at least once every outing.

But i still think some are special. And i just made one of those.

So enjoying the comforts of the shot shed, and now long range company as my M8 got a tricked out DRS.
Well my friend made a new target, with some spinners made out of some nail plate, and that worked out just fine, even better to me these have little holes for nails.
So of course i took aim at these little holes ( distance not ranged but for sure 95 - 100 yards )
And i managed to smack quite close to many of the holes, and then changing to a fresh hole i had that perfect #1 shot at it.
There was a ever so slight sound of the 13 grain slug nicking something, and the " paddle " moved a little, so i thought to myself " either you just nicked the edge of the damn thing or your slug went right thru the hole "

So i had to get up from the nice comfortable chair and take the walk to the taget.
And i was not let down, passers by on the street behind the shot shed might have seen a old man out in the field run in circles with his arms over his head.

I guesstimate the holes to be 5.5 - 6 mm or so, very aim small miss small kind of deal.

Of course no mention of the other 10 or so holes i also shot at, and the 30 - 40 or so shots just getting close, but that one was excellent target change and first shot.

BTW i also moved the dueling tree out to 100 Yards, much more fun now, not least the top 3 paddles which are about the group size you can wish for / get with a .177 at distance.

1200 13 grain slugs fired in 2 short days, 800 yesterday and 400 today before i had to pack up at noon and go do the family / uncle thing.

Now home to restock 13 grainers for Fri / Sat, and also promised my M8 to bring some 16 grain pain for his DRS to feast on.

I’d have a hard time picking a singular favorite shot of all time but the thing that brings a smile to my face is picking up a gun I haven’t shot in a while and putting the first pellet exactly where asked.

For example, a little .177 QB79 I put together a few years ago had a slow leak and I finally got around to fixing it last week. Got it reassembled and started testing a few pellets and found it really likes a batch of 13.4gr FX pellets I had on the shelf. So good that I got to thinking I’d really like to take it on a pest control trip. But I need to know that I can count on it so I’ve been doing a 50yd cold shot test the last few days.

I think it’s ready 😀

Not mine but one day we were outside shooting and a flock of yellow beaks landed in a nearby tree. The tree was dense with leaves and the birds were hidden in it pretty good. They were squawking up a storm.
Betty Lou yelled at them to "SHUT UP" and took a random off hand shot at the tree without even aiming. Next thing I saw was a bird drop to the ground DRT.

Not an air rifle.I think it was 60 years ago when I was in college. I took my Winchester Model 70 featherweight 30-06 to the range. The range supplied 50 yard pistol targets for everything. I set mine up at 100 yards, got settled in and took one shot. Looked through my 4x scope and thought it looked good, then went over to one of the range spotting scopes and took another look, then sat down and waited until the range was cold and went down to retrieve my target. I cannot remember the size of the bullseye, but they had a smaller x ring with a x. My shot had centered the x. Some of the old times came over and shook their heads in amazement.

One time when I was a kid, I was screwing around with a fishing pole and looped my favorite lure over a telephone line. I tried to get it back but ended up just snapping the line. So I grabbed my little BB gun and took a shot at it. I'm not going to say the first shot hit it, but eventually I did hit it and it spun around and fell back to the ground.

You do get attached to some lures, this long time fishing man know.
Rods too, my favorite fly rod is a fairly cheap one, just 6 feet and using a WF4 line on it, hook into a trout of 3-4-5 kilos and its game on.
I did make a 11 foor rod that handle the same weights of lines, but that one i have mainly used for dry fly and nymph fishing, and not successful i might add, hence why this home build rather not cheap rod is not a favorite.

That is incredible!
my favorite shots are what I consider trick shots where I use the wind to shoot around an obstruction to hit a KZ.
