Your gateway drug PCP?

Hatsan Flash .25. I bought it and immediately started tinkering... I put a huma reg in it with the larger plenum, donnyFL tanto, then opened up the air port a little. In its stock form, it was putting out 38 ft-lbs with 33.95 JSBs unregulated. I had it up to 41 ft-lbs, but regulated with NSA 33.5 slugs. Then bought a yong heng compressor, built a radiator cooling system and put all that on a welded up air rifle cart, some SCBA bottles, a billion other little things.. but I wanted more... So I bought an FX impact 700mm with the slug power kit and Huma High flow dual-port. Dang this hobby got all encompassing quick.

A .22 Rapid 7 in the early 90s was my first pcp and it is still going strong. No pressure gauge, no reg. - no leaks. Gr

Me too, started off with a Disco. Was thrilled with it but after a while wanted MORE (more power, larger caliber, magazine loading, etc.) Then came, in succession, Mrod .22, Hatsan AT44, .22, AT44 .25, BT65 .22, BT65 .25, Hatsan Carnivore, FX Royale 500 & FX Boss. Now I own only the last 2. They're the perfect guns for me & all I really want or need. Luckily I have some great airgunning buddies & get to try a lot of different high-end guns but I still prefer mine. "To each, his own" as the saying goes but one thing I'm pretty sure of, WE'RE ALL ADDICTED!!!

My first was a Maximus which I still have. It has been trouble free but will probably sell it since I have bought a few others and don’t shoot the maximus much at all anymore.

The old multi-pump Benjamin .22 made sometime in the early 1960's, I guess. I got it at least "third hand" in 1969 and sold it in 1973 just before going into the military. Last I heard, the guy I sold it to ran out of pellets and decided to shoot short nails out of it. He was literally "nailing" varmints around the dairy farm in northern Minnesota......at very close range, mind you.

The memory of that rifle prompted the purchase of a Benjamin Sheridan .20 cal in 1992. In 2009 I stepped up to a BSA Lonestar .25 cal. and an FX hand pump.

Benjamin blu streak ooooooh the fun! I was lethal with that thing - Years later during my navy career I bought a beeman R1 woof! But The power of compressed air! The simplicity! Always left me missing my blue streak.

I love springers and have owned quite a few, but as I get older, seems the puffer guns have more of my interest - never stopped tinkering in the Crosman/Benjamine lego universe -

Mine was the Diana 52 side cock spring gun . It convinced me that I didn't want a scope destroying springer single shot . Clip fed muti shot air rifles were next on the list , I got my fix with a synthetic Cricket 22 cal .

(Described tune worked out to 18.5 fpe for anybody interested, and a decently consistent (for a Disco) 35 shots.)

My Marauder. Used it as a learning platform. Eventually, added a regulator, lighter springs, lighter hammer, new transfer port and such. Learned about the relationship between all those parts and air pressure and why I like regulators. Improved shot count to about 55 shots per fill from 30, still maintained about 28 fpe. Accurate enough to 75 yards. Never touched the trigger even though it's adjustable. Why mess with something that good?

Jumped from the Marauder to FX Impacts. Everything I learned on the Marauder is directly applicable to the Impacts. While the Impact is a whole different league when it comes to quality and accuracy, I still have and won't sell my Marauder. It just simply works. Really happy with it for a first PCP

Evanix Rainstorm. That was a nice lightweight rifle. Sold it it to a friend, he had Will Piatt rebuild it . We went squirrel hunting this fall on national forest & he still used it. He asked me why do u buy a new rifle every year, this rainstorm is all a squirrel hunter really needs & I do have to agree. I got skunked that day but he brought home supper.

Wildcat was mine. It's actually still my only PCP as I had to take break from the hobby thanks to some personal stuff. I've recently been looking at the Uragan though. I could use a new airgun to keep me distracted.

Maximus for me as well. What a fantastic shooter it was. Gave it to my friend after I bought my Marauder.

Steve, I know this is one of the old rifles you used to have & mentioned just not sure which one

 

Someone mentioned the "lowest priced pcp ever" the $400 Bam50/51 , had to have one of those when they came out naturally. Just saw one of my old B50's for sale on another forum but couldn't contact him to purchase it. The misses just started asking if I might be able to track down one or two we've sold She has "regrets" (LOL) on selling. Had a little field experience with the daystate 13mm way back and was sold that they were neat at least. Purchased a Career (or more) from ARS in .25 in 1999. And yes we did play with slugs , helium and all kinds of things (you couldn't perhaps talk about) even a short 20 years ago.

Kept the 707II for 15 years with NO issue. Should have flat out kept it.

Remember kid's, keep all your airguns.

Time fly's but pellets fly straighter.

When the seals were going out on my Benjamin Sheridan (which I used only occasionally) I picked up a Disco. That was the beginning of the end... I didn't shoot it long before upgrading to a Condor SS and I was happy with that for quite a while. Then something happened...
