Stumbled upon this the other day while tinkering. I shined a laser into the scope at an angle. It illuminates the internals. 
the picture was hard to get! But with the human eye; you can move the laser around while looking into the scope (also at an angle) and be able to see the internals
can see three different sets of glass....the structure of the inside of the tube...
