Zan .25 slugs 26.5gr are dirty out of the box?

So I’m testing out new pellets and slugs and I got a box of Zan .25 slugs in 26.5gr. I took them out and all of them are dirty and or has some kind of black coat over them. Is this normal? I’m wondering if you guys just shoot them like this or should I clean them first? If cleaning, do I just use soapy water and a toothbrush? I assume if I shoot them like this out of the box it’ll make my barrel dirty very quickly.

So long as there isn’t white corrosion on them they should be fine. I have a few boxes of ZAN that sat in my garage (sealed), and the Texas heat seems to have brought some impurities to the surface. I tested them and they shoot exactly like the shiny ones.

So… what happens if you shoot the white corroded ones? crazy fliers?
