I have a clear winner!
Finally this morning I had the opportunity to confront the Zan and H&N on a 15% calibrated gell block. Sending them from 150/200 m and also from 141 m on steel . Conclusion: The Zans reveal them self after 100 m where the H&N, having harder lead, struggled to expand properly as the Zan did with a complete and proper expansion. The zan also outperformed the H&N also on steel from 141 m.
I am not saying the H&N‘s are bad, at least in my barrel don’t work as good as the Zans in therm of bare accuracy. What can I say the expansion is much better more suited for long range hunting.

This is the first try at 50 m, not risolutive at all to determine which is the winner but interesting anyway

If only all batch of Zan were the same.
Try the same thing for a few months. H&N will prove more consistent.
Shot probaby 20.000 Zan slugs in the last year.
The Vulcan 3 loves the 37 grain, my Impact the 41 gr.
Never noticed anything wrong with the consistency and I always buy 1000/2000 slugs each time. I get easily 0.6/0.8 moa groups with the Zan 37 grain and my Vulcan , The H&N 1 moa or more at 100 m.
What did you find different in Zan batches?

Good to hear your positive success with Zan slugs.
I've mainly used .177 10gr and the lighter weight .22.
Last 5 boxes of 10gr and 5 boxes of 27gr are nothing like the accuracy I had with earlier purchases. Too many fliers.

Did you shoot the old or new H&N Slugs?
Btw: The lead for our slugs cannot be harder because it does not contain any antimony.
I shot the new ones, recovered these two rounds from a 15% calibrated gell block.
Distance was 200 m, both at 977 fps., I had the same result at 150 m as well

As you can see the H&N barely expanded, touché…in some way: I can not say your lead is harder because I do not make the formula my self, what I can say you have to keep working on the TSLOT HOLLOW POINT DESIGN to make them competitive in therm of expansion with other BRAND like Zan in this case.
cheers
