So I've recently discovered that my .22 RTI P1 (w/newer RPB barrel) kinda likes the 30.5g zans. The barrel only being 600mm - it ain't tossin' them the fastest in the world @935'ish but - they are accurate and (for me anyway) they're giving me a nice "working flat range" for my typical pesting usage. "Working flat range" meaning that my zero mark on my elevation turret is 27-48'ish yards - basically just say 25-50 knowing that at the near 25 and far 50 I'll have to aim a ~little~ high. It's pigeon / woodchuck moa for my typical needs. I can eyeball 99% of any targets that might fall into that range and not have to use my rangefinder. Just aim at it and pew . . . . Beyond 50 yards I have to start dialing up in pretty much two click increments out to 85 - 90 yds, then maybe 3 clicks from there to a little beyond 100.
Anyway - I just got a couple boxes of them from UA and they come in these sleeve things inside of a box. They say they are lubed from the factory. I typically wash & lube any projectile I shoot be it pellets or slugs regardless of the mfg. (NSA, Patriot Javelins, JSB, H&N, etc . . . ) The zans that I've been playing with were given to me to test / try out and as they seem to work / my barrel seems to like them I bought some. They seem to be quite popular amongst the air gunning crew in here so I'm guessing at least some of you reading this might shoot them too. Do you wash and lube or are you just sending 'em straight out of thetin, 'er . . . . plastic holder . . . thing? ( I'm gonna dump 'em into an empty tin tyvm . . . lol )
Just curious.
