Zeroing in my new scope

Hello, everyone,
I have a question. I received my new Bushnell scope today and I zeroed it in at about 28-30 yards. Is that a decent distance, or should I go back out and start over?

Depending what rifle you have? I'm no expert when it comes to pellet guns but from what I have learned on this site that's a good start

Are you hunting with your rifle. If so what is your game animal and kill zone size/level of accuracy required. If you have a chronograph find out your fps for the pellet you are shooting and plug that and other information about your set-up into a program like ChairGun Pro. It will give you a good point of impact sight in distance for your rifle. For most rifles I have the first trajectory sight in point will be between 20 and 25 yards and the secondary impact point will be between 35 and 40 yards. if you don't have a chronograph and don't want to use a ballistics program I would set out targets at every let's say five yards and plot you rifles trajectory through the distances you intend to shoot considering you rifles power and accuracy needed for your target.
