Zoraki 22 caliber My take

You'll have to wait till they are expecting a shipment, then you can pre-order. I expect there will be more. Just check periodically.

I was very tempted to get one, and could have. They even sent me a voucher for $20 off. I was so close to hitting order, lol. But I have a lot of airguns as is. Or at least what I consider to be a lot. Some people have no concept, lol.

I generally find auto safeties annoying but the one on the Zoraki works very well IMHO. Cocking activates a small lever that swings over the top of the trigger. It's right under your trigger finger so there are no surprises there. Also, it can be easily disengaged with your trigger finger without any changes to your hand's position on the grip, or disengaged from the opposite side of the pistol with a finger on your by non-dominant hand.

Same here. I disable most auto safeties but have left the Alecto safety as is.

Steve at Airgun Evolutions on youtube did a vid on these pistols awhile back. As I recall he got around 540 fps using 3 pumps (might've been 4 pumps). Which isn't bad; but, imagine doing 3-4 pumps w/ a P-17? Not fun.

My flat topped .22 Crosman Backpacker does the same velocity w/ 15 pumps. I have the old model 760 pump handle on it. Lemme just say, its a lot easier and faster to pump it 15 times than it would be to pump the Zoraki 3 or 4 times.

You are kidding, right?

Nope. Not kidding at all. I modded my flat topped Backpacker and my 1377 w/ old model 760 pump grips so both pump easily, quickly and quietly. There's nothing to making 15 pumps w/ either one.

You ever see this review for the Zoraki?

Be aware, that 3rd and 4th pump are not for kids. It takes a lot of strength.

So, on the one hand you have a hard to pump pistol w/ the Zoraki and OTOH, you have easy pumping airguns like modded Backpacker / 1377's.

Just to compare? I have another 1377 that hasn't been modded that way yet. It still has the OEM pump handle. That might be the one you're thinking of. It's kinda hard to pump.

OH my gosh, Look, I say look at the Video of Steve on Air gun evol, He is knocking them pigeons down left and right and pumping the Zoraki 22 three maybe four times,

I got my Zoraki 22 and laid it out with my 1377 and my 22 Beeman P 11 , I was thinking about comparing the guns but in a nut shell ,, The 1377 trigger sucked , I got to fix this trigger some how, Plumping to eight times was noisy and really just a hassle,

The Beeman P11 oh my love the trigger, Cock one time its hard...

Zoraki, Love the trigger and its out of the box love, The third pump is no harder than the 8th pump on the 1377 it just feels smooth...

Did not run any over the chrono but its coming ,,, The Zoraki HITS hard shooting at 20 yard targets , Even with only two pumps the Zoraki seemed to be hitting harder, Strange I will be looking into it ...

But just remember we all do not have the power lifting arms and the upper body strength of STEVE,,

Mike

Your 1377 is a noisy pumper? In that case, ... Why not mod it so it pumps quietly? Pumping it 8 times is a hassle? Why not mod it so that it pumps easily & quickly? Trigger on your stock 1377 is bad? Then why not replace the OEM heavy sear spring w/ a much lighter spring for a much lighter trigger pull?

After you get around to flat topping it and putting in a Disco hammer spring so it dumps all the air each shot, the trigger pull will become much harder. That's when you put in the Crosman 1701T adjustable trigger spring so that you get a 2.5 lb pull. Or less. Some folks even adjust the spring so that it has a 0.5 lb pull.

That's fine. When you have modded your 1377 / 1322 in the same way I have modded mine, then you will likely agree w/ me.

Seems to be hitting harder? The max armory link has chrony results.

Quote:

2 Pump 449.475 fps (137 m/s)
3 Pump 524.934 fps (160 m/s)
4 Pump 574.147 fps (175 m/s)

449 fps is ok for target shooting. You won't want to hunt pigeons using just 2 pumps unless you're very close. 3 pumps gives stock 1377 velocity. You CAN hunt pigeons as long as the range is 10 yards or so and/or you go for a head shot. 4 pumps is what you want to do for hunting pigeons or any other type of small game at 20 yards.

The day after I got my P-17, I killed a pigeon w/ it. I shot it in the base of its neck. It was DRT in about 5-10 seconds.

LOL ... watch this reviewer strain to get the 2nd and 3rd pumps in at 5:25 onward.

Both of my 13XX pistols are modded. And there is absolutely no chance of my agreeing with you. But I do hope you enjoy your pistol.
