AAA Evol tweakage

Making some reg adjustments on a .30 AAA Evol. I'll say this, I like this build. Are they worth the money...............we shall see. The long accessory rail isn't rigid enough for my taste but that is the only real gripe at this point. Lowered reg to get my target speed in sight. Put it on paper last night at 40 yards (5-shot groups). Long range testing coming this weekend. Excuse the optics choices for such a prestigious weapon but the Evol has to prove it deserves better 😁

Dang! yes that discovery!! jajaja thanks for sharing! ;) tell us more about your settings ...this is one airgun that I want to check out good!

Reg was at 145 bar which produced a plateau of 940 fps with the 44.75 gr JSBs. Too fast. I lowered to 135 bar which produced a plateau of 910 fps. Backed HST to get 885 fps and will be testing here.

Forgot to add, how many shots per fill? and @ what pressure?

Man I would get one, but I haven't seen anyone report velocities with 65gr or heavier 😭

I believe the Slayer is the one for heavy slugs and long distance (from what I have read)

I've owned a .308 Slayer. Yes, it could send a 99gr NSA at 990 fps. That would get 5 tight shots from a 275 bar fill and 2 good descending shots.

It has the power but with a 1:42 twist rate, don’t know how they will shoot.

I will, however, try 43.8s, 47.2s, & 49.5s.

Hmm, I thought the twist on these were 1 in 27, that's what he said mine is???

Mine shot 44's at 882 fps the most accurately. At 60Y 8 shot groups were .4" ctc. Reg on mine is set at 2200 psi.

Why an 8 shot group?

Great to see you got the gun in your hands Derrick! BTW I believe Tom is not using the 1:42" twist barrels that are on the website. I believe I heard he's using the 1:26" TJs that are designed for the 44gr JSBs. That barrel can also shoot slugs very well which is why I think he's using it now.

Douglas AKA PakProtector on the GTA just talked to TJs and they only offer the 1:26" twist. That 1:42" might be proprietary but from what I've heard Tom isn't using them. PakProtector is now having a mandrel made for a .30 at TJs and I think he's trying to make it a 1:44" twist or something. Maybe longer if he can.

Okay. I wish they would update their website with current info.

Regardless, I'm excited to find out what it can do.

I am very curious is how will these perform considering their price tag. I mean they definitely look really cool but do they shoot as good. I was really surprised to see that the regulator was not adjustable externally. Again considering the price tag. I was able to handle one over at Airguns of Arizona in the build quality did seem to be upper tier. But still that price tag will not be justifiable if it can't perform at that level. I have considered picking one up but until I see how well it performs I'm going to hold off for the time being.
