Alkin w31 review.

Very good review / overview. The first couple of minutes I think cover a lot of what it's all about - you buy a high-end compressor for reliability and maintainability. Being assured that your compressor will work the next time you go to use it, and that parts are available (not just now, but years from now). I do think that he overstated the importance of fill time (at least to me) - I don't really care as long as it doesn't take an hour to top up the tank. I've paid $5 - $15 for fills, so that 4000 fills between heavy maintenance works out to $20,000.00 - $60,000.00! (Only if you use it though!)

I was under the impression the Alkin was a U.S. company. Considering the current state of affairs between the U.S. and Turkey, much less what the future may bring, it may very well be just another compressor that parts may become unavailable. I hope the compressor has better internal machining than the typical Turkish offerings in Air Guns, which look good on the outside and horrendous on the inside. Fingers crossed here!

I realize that Turkish made Webleys and many of the Hatsans leave a lot to be desired. Turkey does have some companies that manufacture lesser quality airguns and firearms. That doesn't mean every manufacturer in Turkey builds inferior products. Britain makes cars with Lucas electronics but it also makes Rolls Royce. Italy makes Fiat but it also makes Ferrari. Spain makes Gamo but it also makes AYA.

Alkin compressors are top of the line in materials and precision workmanship. They are as well made as a Bauer at half the cost. I've owned both. If you own or operate an Alkin it will change your opinion. Airetex sold hundreds of Alkin sourced compressors under its brand to air gunners for 20 years with an excellent reputation for reliability. Alkin has distributed compressors to dealers in the U.S. several years now under it's own brand name.

Thank you for the response Humdinger. Having owned an Airtex, I can attest to the quality. I worry about the fact that the current Gov. of Turkey is guidding the country back into the old days and insisting they turn their back on technology. If they succeed, they may drop in quality fast! I surely hope not as a friend of mine is a dealer. Nic of NSA air gun slugs. 😉
