Any 2240 hpa conversions out there?

Safest way to convert into HPA is to buy a Cothran HPA tube made from stainless steel. Tried and tested air tube that will let you have peace of mind about it exploding like a hipac. I will warn you though: this rabbit hole is deep and by the time you’re done modding your 2240 you will realize the money you got into could’ve got you 3 guns that will out perform it. I’m about $600 into mine. Besides that it’s a really fun project that is extremely versatile. I’m thinking about putting a bottle on mine with a carbine wood stock. This is how it currently looks:

Well here is a small part of the sickness.

A .20 built near 20 years ago by DAQ. I replaced the grips and scope that the druggie thieves stole.





A.22 repeater I put this one together over a 20 year period Custom air breech, X-Factor drop down, and an FX liner for a barrel.





And a .25 with a DAQ upper, Discovery tube and Cocoran grips. Has modded rear sight from a Gamo rifle and a cut down fiber optic 2240 front sight.





Another .25 and a 9mm both were stolen back in late 2010 though.

But wouldn't you have to change virtually every part on a P-Rod to make it a 2240? ;-) 

This was built around a Cothran 2240 hpa tube - 



If you don't want to add a bottle & drop block, a 2250 or 2400 tube will give you a few more shots -



Hipacs are perfectly safe WHEN USED AS INTENDED -

Crosman got it right with this one converted to hpa.

That is a simpler way to add a bottle, but I think pinning the valve will allow the tube to act as a "plenum" possibly allowing more power at a lower pressure, but not sure how much more?

There is also one offered by Magnum Airpower that screws into the end of the tube but does require pinning the valve.

On average it's usually 8 fps per inch. So 18 to 24 might be 48 fps more. YMMV
