At Long Last! Rapid Air Weapons HM1000x.25

Hi there 30cal. She's every bit as good as you could hope for! Good job on the photos, very comprehensive coverage, in fact the company would do well to use them for their promos. Those rabbits are in for it now. I managed two and a Pukeko [a water bird that was grazing the horses grass] this morning.

Back to your rifle, she's a beaut so you'll be justifiably proud.

Alright, just came in from my first shoot with it. used my new 3 legged shooting bench and just the bi-pod and a rear bag. Sighted in at 20 yards. Took 3 shots. Took a few shots at my new Steel Plinkers quad spinners. Boy does the .25 smack them hard! They are rated for 45 fpe guns but the RAW is pushing 55-60 but it didn't hurt them at 20 yards. Then moved my target back to 50. First 5 shot group was 7/8 inch (22 mm) second group was 1/2 inch (13 mm). Not bad for my first try if I do say so. I was running out of daylight so ended it there. Managed 1 MoA on my first try. Very happy about that!

It is a little louder than I was expecting. Slightly louder than my Marauder but not much really. But it is putting more power so it stands to reason I guess.

The gun is 47 1/2 inches long and weighs 12 lbs with the scope. I have not weighed the gun by itself yet but I will. Keep in mind the the Falcon weighs 2 pounds and the Warne rings are steel and are heaver than similar size aluminum rings.

Well so far it has been worth the wait! I'm still getting used to it of course. My wife and I were just out bench resting it at 30 and 50 yards. You should have seen the smile on her face! She couldn't miss. Heck that right there makes it worth it! I then tested some different pellets and found that Benjamin domed 27 gr. gave me the best results at 50 yards. Got two 3/8 inch center to center groups back to back. The JSB heavies seem to be very good also. I haven't got real serious testing it yet. Just playing with and getting used to it. I'm having trouble with my new Falcon 5.5-25x50 ffp mil/mil scope and am sending it back to be replaced. Has some opticaI problem. Also just ordered a Aeon 8-32x50 scope with a target dot reticle to try a conventional target scope out rather than a ffp mil/mil tactical scope. Will put quick release rings on both so I can swap them at will. Should be interesting. I am currently using my Primary Arms 4-14x44 ffp mil/mil scope. I really like it! Almost better than the Falcon, at least so far. We'll see when the replacement gets here, that could change. Anyway the 14x scope limits me to about 50-60 yards for group shooting on paper.
I have done some informal plinking at 100 yards. I have a couple 3 inch steel gongs at 100yds and can hardly miss. Of course it has been raining a lot the last few days and that has limited my shooting.
I haven't got the chrony out to test speed yet but I will soon.
The trigger is set very light from the factory. I would say just about right for target shooting from a rest but its probably to light for hunting. It is however very adjustable. I have not touched that yet. You can adjust 1st stage travel, 2nd stage travel, weight and even set it for single stage if you like that better.
The gun fills to 230 bar. (3,300 psi) I have not done a precise count of shots per charge yet but its got to be around 40 maybe a bit more. 3 full mags plus a few. Will do that when I get the chrony out. The gun is very comfortable for both bench rest and off hand use even though it is heavy it is well balanced and does not feel nose heavy to me.
I have cleaned the barrel good but it was not dirty from the factory. I ran a bronze brush through it once to clean the grooves then used a Crown Saver and lightly wetted patch with Ballistol twice. Then very tight dry patches about 4 passes. Came out nice and clean. Then used some Krytec.
It is so pretty to look at! I have it sitting on a table in the living room so I can admire it constantly. See how long I get away with that! Haha! :-D

Took more photos today also. Will get them up soon.

Hey 30cal. A great followup report plus pictures, very detailed and I like the mention of your wife's reaction, nice that you shoot together. You've encouraged me to try and get my wife out to the range. Thanks for the barrel cleaning tips, I will take note of them. I am hoping my Aeon scope is a good one for I don't want to have to send it back from here. I am 13 days away from unboxing my new gear but won't be able to try it until I get home after the elk hunt late Nov.
My HM will not be out on display, Police security reasons, but I will enjoy showing it off at the range. Get that rain over with before I arrive please.
Good shooting to you both.

You have done it now, 30cal, damn you, I will not look at this thread again, lol.

Now back to being sensible, that airgun is a work of art and the bench is not too shabby either, glad to hear your wife likes the HM also but you might be in trouble if she likes it too much. I have enquired with the dealers here in Oz who were importing the RAW line of airguns as to whether they are still available but they were rather vague as to why they won't import them anymore, bit of a bugger but I suppose I will have to make do with my FX500 when it arrives.

30cal-
Beautiful gun and Incredible pictures. I am sure you will get a lifetime of enjoyment from that HM1000X. I love them so much that I purchased 3 - .25, .30, .357. I always purchase a minimum of 3 mags per gun as well.
Martin is a true master.....a dying breed. Each one of those HM1000X's is a custom gun that is well worth the wait and expense. It's a bargain for that kind of quality and customer service! ----- Hunter
