I now have the DAR gen II .25 , and the .22 ... this thread will be about the .25 ... I put my CP 3x12x44 etched reticle locking turret scope on this 1 ..
I really like just about everything about this gun so far , the stock is actually very nice for a $300 gun , as you can see in the pics . and the mags are very nice aluminum ones that snap in to a spring loaded ball , that works great ... love it ! and they are decent priced at $19.99 I ordered 2 extra for each gun since the gun only comes with 1 mag ...
I also used some 2 piece dove tail to pic rail adapters , that I bought off ebay , they were a bit to small on width so I had to use a file on them so they would slide on correctly ...
The DAR is very well balanced for off hand shooting , the build quality is exceptional for a $300 gun , almost everything is metal / aluminum , and hardly any plastic which I like a lot ... its more of a very classic hunting design , and look to it , just a very nice gun for the money from what I see so far ...
The trigger is ok , I did adjust it for length of pull very short ,since it was a bit rough ,and dragging I felt , and there appears to be no oother adjustment , so I worked the trigger a bunch because I could not get in to the trigger mechs so I could polish for smooth sliding of metal to metal parts like I would normally do , I took the gun out of the stock , and it has small pins that are pressed in that would be very hard to remove from what I can tell so far , to get to the trigger parts I would need to get to polish ... see pics
So after looking at it a bunch on the back of the trigger box { I will call it } there is a rectangular hole that opens up {see pic} so you can see the part that clicks into the hammer holding it back when cocked ,and releasing it when you pull the trigger so I put a very small dab of synthetic Valvoline grease on it , and then worked the trigger for a bit , and now it feels pretty decent slides easy not so grabby to throw your shots off ... the .22 did not have this roughness in the trigger but it also has a lighter hammer spring which loads the parts with less pressure than the .25 does ...
So far from what I have seen , and some shooting I have done - this gun is in the lead for best pcp for the low cost 300 - $400 price range ... its really that nice !
