less than 5 hrs on this compressor and she's stalling out around 4000 psi then tripping my 20 amp breaker any ideas why? Less than a year old from AoA.

Something to check for first. Is there a voltage problem? If the voltage is low current goes up. Are you using a small gauge extension cord? Those are quick easy checks. If you release pressure will the motor start again? When you say stalling does the motor just hum? The more information the easier the troubleshooting. Note I do not have a Daystate comp. But am a long time electrician. Also on my Omega compressor, I need to keep the coolant running even after shutting of at the desired pressure. If I dont let it cool there is a chance the compressor motor will not start.

No extension cord just stock cord, motor will be running and just stall and humm then a few seconds later blow the breaker! Only item on that circuit thats running?

You need to run it off of its own dedicated breaker or turn off-unplug all other household items while running it. Less of a potential fire hazard that way too. All them wires heated up hidden within your walls...

If it is humming its a locked rotor. Which should operate a overload. If the compressor dosnt have a overload it would trip a breaker. A locked rotor on a motor is usually a mechanical problem. If it is still under warranty I wouldn't fool with it.

The one thing you could do is check that outlet to be sure the voltage source it 120. If you dont have a meter you could move it to another receptacle that dosnt have other components running on it

The motor is trying to turn over the air compressor and something is causing the electric motor to work too hard resulting in a high amp draw which is popping the breaker. It’s not the electric motor it’s the actual compressor . I had similar . You can disassemble the unit rather easily and send just the compressor part for repairs. It happens.

A motor usually is ok until there is 10% voltage drop. So your voltage looks ok. Sounds like you have a mechanical problem going on. Too bad it wasn't something simple. As many problems I hear coming up with compressors I pucker every time my tank needs filling. I am interested on your outcome. I hope it is great!

FYI I don't use ANY of my compressors to fill past 4000psi even if they can. That last extra 500psi is a killer. Just like filling the Nova Liberty (Avenger) rated at 4350psi. I just do 3000psi and refill more often. Less stress on the seals. Same with my other high pressure fill guns even my Huben and others as well just fill to 3000psi since I never want to deal with potential leaks.

The more psi the more electrical consumption, the more likely it is that your electrical wiring is too thin and your installation is overheating. Try filling up several times to let your electrical installation cool

Only have a YH but purposely bought the 220v version so I could use it on the same circuit I run my welder and plasma cutter on. Wanted to be sure I didn't fall short on juice. And as Yo stated, only fill to 4000psi.
