Dynamic Air Rifles .25

At the beginning of this year I was approached to take a look at the Dynamic Air Rifle. This was a product currently being manufactured by AimSports and distributed through the Sportsman’s Guide online store. The first generation of these rifles sold well but they had many problems being reported by consumers. AimSports took action and offered refunds and ultimately replacements to these line of rifles, a very honorable thing to do. This company took the hit and proved they were in the Airrifle market for the long haul, focused to keep the community happy. Dynamic Air Rifles reached out and offered to send me the New 2nd generation that was reworked from the previous issues the rifle had. I received the rifle and spent the next several months in the field testing it and making sure it was something I wanted to review and endorse. Through my experience this gun in .25 caliber has proven well in the field, enclosed is my experience with this Air Rifle.

Hi Dana, thanks for the review. I look forward to checking it out this evening.

I have a .22 gen 2 and just love it. It’s lights out at 50 yards with anything that says JSB on the label…the 18.13gr, 15.9gr, or the Hades. It shows no signs of regulator creep and the POI never wanders…a perfect critter getter. It may sit idle all week and on Saturday or Sunday I’ll grab it to remove a chipmunk or squirrel at the permission down the street and it’s always spot on with the first shot. On a recent visit it dispatched 3 chipmunks back-to-back-to-back, each one at 50 yards near the bird feeder. No hobbling off from a slightly misplaced shot on these little critters, just DRT. I can’t ask for more.

Thanks my good sir,

I appreciate all the support you have given to the community over the years. I've enjoyed the DAR very much and it fits well with the type of hunting I do being fairly compact. I think for $300 it's a fantastic value with such a simple design. It's not perfect but the feedback we've given is always well received. I'm excited for them to sell these and see a good future for them as a company.

Cheers

Great review Dana! Surprised they didnt include an Alpha6 scope along with the gun.

I really like Aim Sports company because the don't seem greedy profit -wise who really cares for their customers (already proven recalling and refunding and eating the entire loss UNFORTUNEATELY can't say the same for other companies' TB4U WARRANTY!!!).

It looks like a much better deal compared to the $499-$599 Diana Outlaw Cousin. A nicer wood stocked entry level alternative to the synthetic AV Avenger. Very interested to see Air Velocity Sport take it apart if it doesn't have the weak valve seat as the Avenger/Nova Liberty have prone to fail.

I have the older Artemis SPA M16 versions in several calibers and they are great!

Odoyle, yes the poppet in the gen 1s were prone to break. Owners reported it to Aim and they improved it in the gen 2.

From my own limited experience, the poppet in my gen 1 broke but the gen 2 is going strong despite having 2x as many pellets through it. Actually I just realized I’ve had it for about a year and a half now and I can’t remember having any issues with it whatsoever. The closest thing was one I caused. I accidentally pulled the trigger with the bolt open and blew out the breech O-ring. That level of reliability puts it in rare company. It’s just a sample size of one but that’s pretty unusual for any airgun, let alone a budget model.

BTW, where do those O-rings go anyway? I can see it disappearing outside but I was in the house and that O-ring has never been seen since!

Great review Dana. It looks like a nice gun for the money. A real wood stock too! That's a rarity these days with this new bunch of $300 entry level guns.

I'm looking at getting a .22. They are not in stock at this time. I contacted them and asked when they would be back in stock. They got back to me right away and said they will be back in stock and ready to ship in about 2 weeks.

Thanks for checking it out, we had a great few months with it and enjoyed filming this one. I had anticipated them selling pretty quickly as I saw the need for a good wood stock budget PCP. I can't tell you how many emails I get from people who love some of the guns I review but just don't want plastic stocks.

Hey Nervousstrig. How many good shots are you getting on a 3000 psi fill with your .22?

Smbob, I can't locate my notes on the .22 but with the .25 cal I get 31 shots at 45fpe. If it scales linearly, that would be almost 50 shots on the .22 cal at its present tune of 28fpe. I don't think it gets quite that many though. I'm a hand pump guy so I tend to charge up a gun at night if I see it's getting low so I couldn't tell you the last time I ran a full string.

Thanks Man! I don't think it would be too much to expect for someone might get in the neighborhood of 40 shots at 28 ft lbs with18.1 JSB's with this rifle. Great to hear the .22 is super accurate too! Makes me want one even more!

Yeah the .22 has really impressed me with its accuracy. Here are some 25 yard groups and 43 yard singles done shortly after getting it set up.

The 43 yarders worked out to less than 0.5 MoA which is beyond my normal marksmanship abilities so by no means can I duplicate that at will but it gives some sense of its potential. Full disclosure, this is after my typical accurizing regimen (crown, leade, and bore polish).

And here's a couple of short scope cam clips.

First some 50 yard plinking:

And a couple of gray squirrels back to back...fair warning, animals were harmed in the making of this film.
