The next logical step for me was taking it longer. Both the 17 and the 25 are set up, I just needed a bench and a target. So I cobbled one together. I will be doing something a little more formal, at 250, But this worked for today
I shot the red wolf 25 with the 34 grain. It did better than I thought it would. It’s the last target down below. I shot it first. It was pretty much all over. Very much affected by the wind. It was dropping so much more. A couple times I put three in a row that we’re close together.
The real story today is of course the 17. The best group was under MOA…at 240. I almost did it again a few times. But it’s easy to have one stray at that distance.

first group with the 177
Tha
thats two shots, one tight on the left edge, I had moved it 100 clicks and was holding on the top of the target, it was still way low…but I knew I heard shots hit, took me a while to find them
the groups (after some scope adjustments)
That’s sub MOA …at 240
I shot a few more groups right at dusk with the mosquitoes attacking. Two of them could’ve been awesome, see below. Four shots in a row were right around an inch.
and finally the 25 With 34 grain pellets
The three shots on the left were an attempt at a second group.
