Herr Odoyle, I ordered the 3-12x44 UTG U-MOA just now even though I promised myself not to procure made in China optics anymore, lol!
The 4-16x44 is no more, but I am really quite partial to 9x to 12x scopes for shooting at 25 to 50 yards.
In reality, I group best at 25 yards with the magnification set at 6x to 7x maximum, and about 8x to 9x maximum for 50 yards.
The Barra 25x, which you rallied for, I have not used it yet nor mounted it, but I am very elated with that purchase, so thank you, sir!
Reminiscing, I purchased a Centerpoint 3-12x44 with the hash reticle for an AG friend of mine in the Philippines--probably they are identical, optically speaking.
I bought it off of Ebay for around $54 (brand new and not a refurb) back in 2018 and had it shipped to another state where an American priest family friend was temporarily staying.
He took it with him on the way back to the Philippines (where he is a permanent resident), and my friend, who is not financially-gifted, is still in 7th heaven even up to now.
He even got a medal during one of the competitions using that scope
He has always been a good shot, albeit lacking in good equipment
Good or decent scopes are a luxury in my native country, especially for the common people, and enthusiasts are actually willing to pay double or triple for it.
