My Impact has been gradually loosing power over the last couple weeks. It is a first gen .25 cal. Regulator pressure gauge shows it is maintaining 150 bar. I have the power wheel turned up to max now; it was originally set at #4 when POI started falling off. I had to keep raising the elevation on the scope. yesterday I checked the velocity on the Chrony.....it was down below 650 FPS and is using very little air. I replaced the 2 o-rings at the rear of the barrel, and the one in the chamber for the pellet-probe seal. No help there. My first guess was that the hammer spring is broken, but it has been getting gradually weaker over time. Any suggestions before I try calling FX USA?

It sounds like the hammer stop has come loose. The first gens have the little, tiny grub screw that holds it on the threads of the valve rod. It can also come loose on the valve side. Essentially the valve rod is lengthening itself and not allowing itself to be opened as much as it was before.

Also,, make sure your valve adjuster is not screwed in too tightly, or loosened itself. It should be around the 3.5 hash mark for a 25 cal. In my case, i lost track of the valve adjuster during tuning and loosened it too much and lost power and the velocity was all over the place.

Thanks, the valve adjuster is in orriginal location, at 4 lines.

After watching the video, I can see that the valve rod assembly could become longer at either end! If this happened, it would not allow the valve to open fully, which could be my problem. It looks like I will have to send the gun back to FX or tear it down myself; neither of which do I want to do. FX should have designed the gun so this can't happen, in my opinion, considering this gun is supposed to be the industry leader.

Steeve, sorry to hear you having any issue but I bet it'll be a simple fix. I know there were issues with the Gen1 but by now there should be fixes for any of them. I'd take it apart personally (bad habit I have) and look around and try to figure it out yourself. There should be a few videos out to help guide the way. Just go slow and don't force anything, stop and ask for help. I think that once you get into it, fix it and get it back to shooting the way it should you'll be happy that you did it yourself. I can take a FX Wildcat, Royale and now a Crown down to pieces and do anything I need to with them whether it's a O-ring replacement or some serious mods. It's good to know they won't ever have be sent in to FX USA for anything. Now if I would just fix my wife's toilet that keeps hanging up and that she reminds me of often..... Hey, a New Years project. lol
