If that's not enough do it to the clear cover too. Note the pellet skirt ghost stains then use a sharpie to mark - color in where needs to be milled out.

Great idea. But put the bit in a drill press. The channel will be the same depth all the way around. If other pellets give you trouble after doing this try a o ring in the channel just take it out for pollys and slugs.

OR add a pair of springs to this make it plunger type and seat wedge magazine flush in a piece of wood before doing it. Can even use a standard drill for this project use springs and adjust to plunge max depth stop omit clear bottom shield to use as a router on stilts instead.
