New SPA Artemis PP750

Thanks for the advice. Can you show a pic of the rounded edges on the mag?

Just a half mm off the corner keeps it from catching.

I thought you were talking about rounding off the edges of spindle inside the mag that holds the pellets. I think get2anthony was talking about the way the pellets get deformed inside of the oem mag and not the CARM mags. Thanks for sending the pic though. That would make insertion easier

I have had that catching/tipping problem in other guns. Can be very difficult to fix, any widening can cause more space to tip into, exaggerated with wadcutters.

The PP750 is really a charm to shoot, I'm settling down with the power mods and shooting a lot to find the sweetest set points for my purposes. A couple of spare magazines would be nice.

It really is a joy to shoot. Been shooting mine for a few days now and love it! 3/8” groups @ 25 yards, 50 plus shots on a fill, decent build quality. Best $220 I’ve spent in airguns

Just visited your power mod link shown on page 16 post. Your knowledge is precious with those of us living in the mud huts of the North American continent, trying to shoot under the back breaking Federal and State restrictions imposed upon us decent, peace-loving, airgun shooters who merely want to go outside and kill things?

I'm getting too old to venture outdoors and choke wild animals to death with my bare hands...I NEED my 750 here in the Arkansas mountains to survive. Been living on mushrooms and owl turds for the past six months waiting for my gun, so I want to ramp up the power ASAP upon arrival!

Above...a picture of me, yesterday, trying to score some bacon with which to flavor my owl turd casserole for tonight's dinner! I'm 77 and the hog outweighed me by at least 50 pounds....he got away, so it looks like I'll be using sugar and cinnamon again on my casserole!

Too funny, except for the owl pellet eating... coughed up a little. Hand strangled bacon has to taste better than store bought though.

Settling on 12FPE with the .177 PP750 has worked well and been blooded in on rats, ground squirrels, crow and a couple dozen hosps. An oversized LDC keeps the natives blissfully un aware. It is not pellet picky, shoots most premium pellets very well. The very best for me have been JSB Heavy 10.34/JSB 8.44/JSB RS/HN FTT/HN Sniper Med/HN Barracuda Match/HN Barracuda Green. Sharper edged pellets grouped well with occasional wonderers.

I am focusing on smoothing the cocking cycle today, have some demons to exercise.

HUMA makes very nice regulators, I have a couple, never creep and hold settings.

PP750 regulator initially was all over the place, shot string would drop in the middle, then come back. Upon removing the bellevilles a silcon bead was floating around in between the washers, playing havoc. Removed, polished washers and oring paths. Very smooth strings and no creeping. 1/32 of a turn will make a net difference.

So until the regulator creeps, for me it's a keeper.

The cocking cycle has some roughness and an occasional binding right before sear engages. The pellet probe is rides on a 1" wide portion that is unsupported by the thinned end at the end of the cycle as it is retracted past collar, then skewing under load, dragging against block bore. There is a machine bolt stud projecting from the pellet probe, overlapping a ledge on the hammer. Unfortunately the overlap engagement is less than 1mm when the skewing occurs. This has lead to wear on the corner of the bolt head which a few times has ridden up and over the hammer ledge causing a major bind.

Adding a 0.020" (0.5mm) shim under the machine bolt head increased engagement, no more severe binds. Cocking is still rough at end of stroke, because skewing is still occurring.

I plan to inlet some PTFE slides in the future.

I see the shim in the second picture...that is one thin shim! Got any idea of the diameter of the bolt it goes over? Most of us will be ordering the shim, barring a really good machine shop or hardware store nearby. Is there any benefit to what material the shim is made of?

Given this information, we can pre-order and be ready if and when it might be needed. I'm assuming not all 750's will have this problem.
