A couple pictures of the new Daystate Wolverine .22. I always wanted a Daystate to add to my collection. Something about them has always caught my eye. Wood on them is just beautiful. Ya.... I know it does not have a regulator, but I generally shoot off my bench tethered. After watching the Shot Show video (AEAC & AOA) at the Daystate booth, I decided to inquire about when it would be in the US. AOA said we have them in now. Caught me off guard actually not being on their website. I actually thought that they would arrive in a couple months. What made me pull the trigger on the purchase was the thought maybe they would sell out fast being an upgraded model. The other thing was, when I inquired about the moderator, they stated it came with a Hugget. From the AOA shot show video Tony Belas said that they would come to the US with the carbon fiber Daystate Reflex moderator. Maybe in the future they will??? I would have paid to upgrade to a Hugget but at this point I didn't have to.
I ran 3 pellets through it so far to see how quiet it was. It is quiet, but no more than my FX Royale .22. Has a twangier sound from the receiver. I think the barrel noise would have been quieter than the FX. The bolt was surprising harder to cock than expected. I think for bench shooting, it will pull it off target when cocking. As for scope I put an Athlon Argos 8-34X56 on it with BKL 301 rings.
If you buy rifles on a regular basis, I would recommend the Wheeler scope mounting kit with torque wrench. It makes it a pleasure to mount a scope.
Now all I need to do is shoot it. I have ton of home projects I'm trying to complete. Trying hurry so I have all late spring and summer to play. This was kind of my reward for doing them.
