Guys / Gals,
I just wanted to take a second and give a heartfelt 'thank you' to a guy that really went above and beyond to help me out. Ken Hicks, the owner of Southern Precision Air Weapons, LLC (www.spaweapons.com)-a dealer for Rapid Air Weapons-heard that I was having difficulty getting an aftermarket trigger to work properly (I had given up on it, to be honest), and sent me a message saying he would be glad to take a look at the trigger to see if he could help get it to work for me. The trigger I'm referring to is the Rowan Adjustable trigger for the Mk IV trigger units.
Having given up trying to get the unit to work properly (with the trigger unit outside of the action), I decided I would take Ken up on his offer, so I sent the trigger blade down to him (mind you: I did NOT buy the trigger blade, or my RAW from him-so he really didn't have to even offer to help at all). I had purchased the trigger from Rowan in the UK directly, and purchased the gun directly from Martin at RAW. Anyway, I sent the trigger blade to Ken, and he proceeded to disassemble an action he had in his possession, install my trigger blade and adjust the unit until is was working properly. Ken then texted me a video showing he had adjusted the unit to work properly. Through the next several text exchanges, Ken listened to how I would like my trigger setup (weight, second stage break, trigger shoe location and rotation) and then proceeded to set the trigger exactly how I described it to him. At that point, Ken offered to simply send me the entire trigger assembly to directly put into my gun (saying we could just swap units)! I was blown away-Ken had no reason to spend his personal time looking into this for me, let alone set the trigger exactly how I wanted and offer to send me one of his own trigger units, trusting I would send him my trigger assembly in exchange. I would call this 'excellent customer support' except for one thing-I WASN'T even his customer!
I ended up declining the offer to swap trigger assemblies and just asked him to send the trigger blade back to me (with the crown saver, pull through that I ordered from him in the past few days). I received the Rowan trigger blade in the mail today, and proceeded to install the unit. I ran into a few snags (stock needed to be dremelled for the new blade to fit), which Ken walked me through, step by step via texting until I had the trigger all installed and the gun working properly. On top of all thate=: the trigger settings are perfect now! Super crisp release, with very light second stage. I couldn't be happier!
So I wanted to take a minute and just give a very public 'Thank You' to Ken (aka Salticon) for going WAY above and beyond anything he needed to do, to make sure I was all set up and ready to shoot. Ken's a stand up guy who's willing to bend over backwards to help you out (and in my case, I wasn't even his customer at this point!). I would highly recommend giving Ken a try if you are in the market for a RAW or any of the top notch products he carries.
Anyway: too often in forums we freely hear about people's bad experiences with companies, people, etc. I just wanted to take a moment to give Ken a shout-out for going way beyond the call of duty to help out a fellow airgunner. I highly recommend him, and I plan to contact him first when I need something airgun related now. www.spaweapons.com
Thanks Ken!
Sincerely,
Sean
