Suppressor for Leshiy 2 - DonnyFL vs Huma? Something else?

Hi,

I have been trying to educate myself about the possible suppressors for my Leshiy 2. Mine is 350mm barrel and .22 caliber. I am shooting it at the factory (US) regulator setting. Around 800-900 fps.

I came across two models that are widely used (watching YouTube).

DonnyFL 2 x 10.5 inches EMPEROR v3

and

HUMA MODE 30 modular.

On YouTube and they seam to be quiet. But of course sound does not really come across. Especially the emperor seams really silent. I am not sure which one to get. Quieter would be better. I would also consider other options.

It would be great if someone could comment especially on the Emperor. Would this install over the Valkyrie aluminum hand guard? What adapter do I need for the 350mm .22 L2?

EDIT:

Ohh and if someone has the Tyshina suppressor. That would be another option. I would love to hear about that too, though it is out of stock it seams.

22 cal 350mm huma mod 40. The gun initially sounded loud, but having the wife shoot it makes me realize it’s mainly mechanical noise. My gun came in this configuration from edgunwest

Your setup, or the one step longer Valkyrie guard is what I like the most for looks. So it still feels loud? If you haven an iPhone it has a DB reader on it. You could measure it. I am sure Android has an app for that as well.

Was the upgrade worth in noise reduction compared to the stock?

After trying to quiet down my Leshiy 2 .22 350mm with different moderators and still not satisfied with both the additional length and sound levels. I have tried many different moderator including STO’s FLEX/Pilum, Ramus technologies Trident, few of DonnyFl’s, Zero db and Huma Mod 40. I decided to make a shroud for the L2. The finished product is a blowback chamber/shroud combined the a short DonnyFl’s Tatsu which measured at around 10.5 inch including the Tatsu (most of the length is behind the Tatsu). This combination out performed the longer moderators and it’s only 3mm beyond the CF handguard which give my Leshiy 2 an overall length of 31.5 inches.

So one final dummy question. Thanks for all the info. I've decided to go with the Huma mod 40, because I also want the hand guard. I guess the correct size to order for the Leshiy 2 .22 350mm is 1/2 UNF20. Right?

Get the M14 thread version if you don’t want to use a 1/2 unf to M14 thread adapter

Listen to this man, he knows what he's talking about. I've met up locally with him and shot my L2 side by side with his and his L2 is ridiculously quiet...granted his is a 0.22 and the one I brought was a 0.25 but even keeping that in mind, Jack's L2 was surprisingly quiet. I also had a 0.177 L2 and would say that Jack's current setup with his 0.22 is quieter than the 0.177 w/ factory long silencer I had on it.

If you decide to use the MOD 40 on other airguns, you might want to get the 1/2x20 UNF version with the M14 adapter. You could always get a different Huma MOD 40 start section but I believe it would cost more than getting the adapter. I have the MOD 40 with M14 threads for my L2 and wanted to try it on a different airgun with 1/2x20 threads but couldn't. Huma-Air sells the MOD 40 start piece for about $50, not including shipping.

You will love the Mod40. If you decide to save weight later, build a full shroud. They are quieter than any end-of-barrel mod. You can build lighter and shorter in overall length because you get a major pressure dump into the volume back around the barrel. Once you dump all that pressure you only need 4 to 6 inches to quiet it down, beyond what any diameter end of barrel mod can do. My shroud is 27mm 14 inches long and does a good or better job than the MOD40 which I loved. I like that the MOD 40 is removable quickly so the rifle is shorter for transport than with a full shroud, which is hard to remove. I prefer Huma over DonnyFL, both very high quality, just like the suppression on the Huma better, like the anodizing on the DonnyFL better. Love this country and all the choices we have.
