Taipan Vet vs. Mutant

Yep, other than that, not much difference... The Veterans have a different type of transfer port, plus the barrel is threaded into the action, unlike the Mutant, which is more two orings and grub screws. Some of the Mutants had much nicer wood stock than the current Veterans...

Also the mags for the Vet are wider so they will accept longer ammo. Out of the differences mentioned though, the biggies for me are the anti double feed and the transfer port. The T port design is genius, all guns should be built that way. It is not a part of the barrel itself, it is made like the exhaust port on a two stroke motor. It has a bridge at the bottom and is wide open on either side. According to Matt at R&L, it means 100 fps over a tradional design.

@centercut - I had to clean the drool off of my phone screen, is that yours?! That is one fantastic looking beauty right there!!! I'm utterly impressed 😎

@scubajeeper - nice! That sounds efficient, I can get a picture of what you're describing.

I have my eyes out for the Pimp Juice Deluxe Long version. R&L had told me a few weeks ago that there wasn't any new stock coming to the states for at least 60 days. In terms of the reg on the Vets, are they easy to get at and adjust?

You have to take the gun apart to get the reg out, it not too hard to do though. Once the reg is out, it's easy to adjust. It's a guessing game because you have to reinstall it and put the gun back together to see where you are. Ernest has a reg tester for the Cricket that allows you to check it outside the gun, I'm not sure if the Veteran reg will fit though.
