I installed a Modkin picatinny rail on my Taipan. I used a Vortex picatinny rail tripod adapter mount attached to the Desmond DB-52 ball head. The tripod is make of carbon fiber which is very strong and light weight. This setup is very stable. I can shot my gun standing and sitting. I like it better then my old Caldwell Max deadshot fieldpod. Total cost around $350 from Amazon.
