That lazy bum TEXtreme Field Target match director finally carved out enough time from his busy (loafing) schedule to compose a TEXtreme Pistol Field Target rules-set. Correction- rip-off the AAFTA pistol rules, then contort them to fit my own nefarious, sick and twisted agenda. But I don't expect to lose much sleep over it, considering I had more to do with conceiving and delivering the AAFTA pistol rules than anyone. The TPFT rules are attached; no doubt subject to editing and evolution as y'all point out senile omissions on my part, and as situations demand.
The TEXtreme venue-improvement program is coming along nicely (albeit at a leisurely pace). Much of the venue improvements have lately concentrated on Extreme Pistol FT match particulars, considering our June EFT Grand Prix weekend is the official launch of Extreme PISTOL Field Target competition.
Field targets require no small amount of tuning to function reliably over any particular range of anticipated impact energies. And the wider the range of impact energies, the more complicated becomes target tuning; at least proportional to the range of impact energies, if not actually exponential to the range of impact energies. Suffice to say that utilizing the larger, heavier extreme field targets in the pistol event for the thrill of knocking down those big suckers with a pellet pistol... to 55 yards, greatly complicates the match director's job. Especially since relocating any field target requires re-leveling and re-tuning it. Hence, to avoid moving any more targets than necessary for the pistol event, I'm moving some pistol shooting-lines closer to the targets to avoid as much target tuning as possible.
But of course moving firing-lines on such a shade-devoid place as Ranchito Robinson requires some thinking, planning, and physical work to avoid not exposing my pistol shooters to (brutally) unshaded shooting-lines, come June. So I'm not only adding shade to pistol-specific shooting lines, but also adding adjustable feet to the bases of targets that will be moved between our pistol and rifle matches. Believe it or not, all is going well with these changes/additions; well enough that I'm no longer worrying about it all working out.
It's encouraging to see and hear from shooters either readying their Extreme FT pistol rigs, or purchasing new toys to compete in Extreme Pistol Field Target competition. One TEXtreme regular just got a new .22 caliber HW44, and another installed a .22 barrel on his PP700. Looks like the TEXtreme Pistol Field target event at our June Extreme Field Target Grand Prix weekend might be better contested than originally thought.
Coming together nicely. TPFT rules attached below.

Ron
