PCP Rifle  NLA Laminate .25 Wildcat! Gen 1 (retired speed competition gun)

Pending! 9/20 (STU)

This one has been with me for a long time!
My EBR Speed shooting Gen 1 Wildcat. It's been primarily sitting in its case for the past few years so, it's time to give it a new home where it will be enjoyed.
10's of thousands of rounds through it during its heyday. Still shoots and cycles great! STILL capable of winning times in EBR speed silo, in the right hands! ;)
I had it tuned to shoot the .25g JSB's. From 223b to 143b I could count on it for 40 consistent shots at 900.6 fps. I have an SD of 2.15 jotted down from when I was competing with it. That was many years ago and I can't guarantee that it's still performing at that level.
Comes with 4, 8 round magazines with on-board mag holders. In my opinion, these are still the best magazines FX ever produced! Load and shoot or, in the wildcat, you can actually re-load the mag while using it in the rifle! The mag holders are awesome! The mags are secure and out of the way while still readily available for a quick swap. The laminate stock has 1 imperfection, that I could find (see pic).
Also comes with an MTC Mamba Ultra Lite 3-10x40 scope, FX adjustable rings, Donny FL Koi moderator, Atlas picatinny rail attached to the stock, and FX Wildcat hard case. (The rifle will not fit in the case with the moderator attached.)
Scratch on the barrel from when I took the OEM shroud off. Scratch and smudge on the Koi. The smudge should clean off.
The mag lever was polished so that it would not score the magazines and have positive engagement when cycling at speed. While getting it ready to post for sale, I took it out of the case, tossed some junk .25's in it, and shot a ragged hole at 50 yards. The original smooth twist barrel is still rockin'!

$1000 $800 shipped CONUS. PayPal F&F preferred. Will consider trading for FX Royale .22 with CF bottle and power wheel.

Apologies for some crummy pics! I was rushing around a lot that day!
Bipod not included and NOT FOR SALE!

Theoben  Best caliber for Crow Magnum?

What is the best caliber for this platform? I always wanted a .20 just because it was an exotic combo back then. Picked one up a couple months ago and haven’t been able to shoot it much, but the pellet availability got me thinking:

I’ve seen someone say it’s a little light for .25 and I’ve seen others say .22 is best since you have a wide spectrum of pellets available. Does anyone have preferences?

Foster Fitting QD Sizes?

I really don’t know much about the types and sizes of the components used to make various fill assemblies. I looked up some 1/4 NPTF male QD foster fittings, but I’m unsure if the QD female foster fittings that we’re used to using will fit these safely and correctly. I’d like to find a source based in U.S.

I’ve located this older thread, but I’m looking for additional info.

New HW30's From Krale's, My First Day! From The Beginning

Well I'm going to guess this will be a long post. I have looked and found little info on prepping a brand new springer, so, this is what I do, and it's served me well.

But first I am astounded at how quick I got this here in Ohio, from the Netherlands! 3 DAYS! I ordered it the 12th and got it the 15th! actually 10pm Thursday the 11th, but by noon Friday, I had tracking, UPS expected delivery the 15th,,,, I laughed and said that will never happen? Sunday the 14th it was sitting in Indiana 25 miles away? I had it by Noon Monday the 15th, just two business days! Plus it was not available here in the US, but paid less for shipping and all than I could get it here before shipping and tax was put on it!

Well In over 95 degrees and 90% humidity, I really got a work out. But first off, was to strip it, adjust the trigger, and clean the barrel. These Weihrauch air rifles have had a lot of residue from corrosion protection in the bores! I used butches bore solvent to patch the barrel with 3 wet patches before brushing "PRO SHOT WITH A COPPER BORE BRUSH" which I gave 6 to 8 passes from breach, to bore exit, carfully stopping at bore exit, and pulling back thru, that was one pass.

I used three wet patches then 2 dry, and used IOSSO bore cleaner, this was when, after 5 or 6 passes as with the brush, I pulled those brown patches out, that's not barrel metal, barrle polishing they come out black, it is whatever they use as corrosion protection! Probably Cosmaline. But I went thru this regime 4 or 5 times. So after about an hour or more, I cleaned the outer surfaces with STI solvent, it contains a preservative lubricant that penetrates the pores of the steel and preserves and lubricates. I use STI super tuning level wind fishing reels. Great stuf, also good for semi-auto pistols. These are only the patches used with the IOSSO, 4 to 5 passes stroking back and forth, cleaning and polishing the bore. when properly done, will smooth and stop fouling from quality lead pellets.
20240716_185304[1].jpg

Finally wiped down, clean and back in the stock, I did nothing to the internal power plant,,,, YET? I seasoned the bore for lead projectiles. I used the same thing I used decades ago on Muzzel loaders,,, T/C Bore Butter Seasoning. It is mainly softened bees wax, and 100% natural. Three patches with the butter impregnated in the patch, then stroked back and forth 6 to 8 passes with each patch, before running one clean dri patch thru. Leaving the pores of the barrel pre seasoned.

I then installed the rings, the lightest set I had, and the small light, Vantage 2-7x32 Mildot AO Hawke scope. For a sweet little light6,6 lbs. package.
20240716_130340[1].jpg

It was time to start sighting in. I probably put over 50 shots thru it before getting the chrony out and shooting 10 shot groups at 20 yards with three different pellets. When I ordered this rifle was hoping I could get 620 to 630 fps with 7.5 ish grain pellets? Well it did not disappoint! It not only gave me a 10 shot average @ the speed I was hoping for, it did it easily, with 632.7 fps Average. Not to mention with less than 20 fps extreme spread @ 15.3 ES with 5.09 SD. I'm definitely Hap HAP happy! And right of the bat with all three pellets under dime sized groups. So not at all pellet picky, but I will be using the JSB Exact RS in this rifle,, I have 3000 on there way for starters.
20240716_123641[1].jpg

But with the JTS 7.8 grain Dead Down Wadcutter, the 7.7 grain H&N Terminator, and the 7.3 grain JSB RS all proved to shoot great, under a dime sized groops, whill all printing to the same POI using the SPA for each 10 shot group with all three. I thought fabulous out of a gun this clight, and compact! This was another surprise I would have never even thought reasonable to ask for!

IMG_0910.JPG

The JTS Wadcutters were tested later on when I found they were also mid 7.5 ish in weight. What I am going to consider the sweet spot for pellet weight in this rifle.
20240716_171000[1].jpg

I have shot it all day long, OFF HAND, I only test on a bench, anytime I shoot after testing, I shoot as I would in the field! This gun has set cocked for 30 or 40 minuets, shooting 3 or 4 pellets, sometimes one with a terminator one with the RS but everytime out to 25 yards it nails walnuts every time, not one miss on those sized targets for over 100 shots, I cant even keep count.

For now this is all I have. I think my prep with this rifle helped it right out of the gate. I have JB'd barrels that were new forever on my centerfires, and started doing it to my pellet rifles about a decade ago, but this was the first I tried the T/C Bore Butter in, and I will use it on any cleaned barrel new or used from hear out. I will let my pellets keep the barrel seasoned from there. Using quality pellets from H&N, JSB Air Arms and JTS are all my rifles eat, and I have yet seen accuracy open up once I have some rounds on them, they simply only ever shoot smaller. I think the Bore Butter just helped settle this rifle down quicker. Now we'll see how much better it gets?

FX  FX Impact M4 MOST IMPORTANT CHANGES

Congratulations on releasing of FX IMPACT M4 🥳

The most important changes as it appears to me are;

1. "better trigger"
2. "reverting to single regulator" (for non technical users),
3. "better pistol grip" and a
4. "stronger top rail" that will be helpful fixing POI shift issues.

Great 👍

FX  FX Boss Tuner

Hi All,

Not sure where to put this post so figured I would try here for starters!

Got my FX Boss delivered and the new Huma reg installed and shot a few mags through it last night and talk about impressive. Down side is I am only getting around 30 shots per fill (160 on the Huma reg) and I know it can be tuned better unfortunately not only am I not a tuner but with my work schedule the gun would spend more time in pieces on the bench than it would being sorted out.

All that being said would love to have someone who knows what they are doing go through this one front to back and get the shot count etc. where it should be and just give her a once over etc. Possibly would be open to removing the shroud so a 700cc bottle could be added (not sure how that would affect accuracy etc.).

Only changes I made were replaced the bottle with a 480cc carbon fiber one and installed the Huma reg.

Anyways anyone up to taking this in let me know and can talk cost etc.

If this needs to be posted elsewhere please do let me know.

Be Safe,
Dr. Mike Long

Air Arms  2 x CZ 200s Warning! Retro folks only

Both are .177. The top one is a 2020 T200 5.5FPE, bottom is 2002 S200 13FPE, using JSB 10.34 domes. Top one addresses my English Sparrow issue (sorry chaps) and the bottom one for Gray Squirrels. I just need to convert my 3rd tank to a foster as pictured with the other 2 and I am set besides ordering another moderator to match the one I have for the S200 (not pictured obviously).

I'm not sure why but I have bits and pieces coming from the Czech Republic and Canada for my .177 Stormrider and have this "log" called the Airacuda Standard that I wanted to fool with the Power Wheel, but who wants to shoot a 9,5lb rifle of any kind? OK, the Airacuda has a an Arken 4-16 on top, but still a NOOB impulse buy! I had the "I wants" for a NOTOS but why, when I have a FX Streamline .22 coming in about 4 weeks. Starting this hobby at near 70 - so little time so many choices.

In any case I like to refer to the Czech-made 200s as my "wizard wands" as when you point those "wands" at critters' heads those critters die, one shot. If it is bigger than a squirrel....I probably won't grab an air gun. I do have nearly 10M in the basement so having these .177s gives me a chance to shoot when the weather forces me indoors and I am too lazy to go fishing:)

[Resolved] What should/could I use to record video down the scope of my Maruader?

Looking for a cost effective option on this one. I know it can become very expensive for something like this. I'd like to utilize my GoPro Hero 12 Black if possible, to reduce costs. I saw one option, but they had to sort of mutilate the GoPro 11 to remove the stock components. I'd rather avoid that. Ideally, is there anything that you guys & gals know of which I could use to have my GoPro Hero 12 Black record whatever my scope sees, but then just be able to quickly remove my GoPro for use on other things? If it helps, I do also have the "Max Lens."

Thanks in advance!

Edit:
Thank you for your replies! I am squared away with this. everything is more expensive than I am willing to spend. I found a 3D print that works really well if you miraculously happen to have access to 50% reflective mirror ;)

FX  Wildcat recoil anyone? Is it affecting your accuracy at long range?

Hi guys, I own the bottle versions of the Wildcat, it is in .22 and I have it with a 600mm barrel and a 480 bottle, right in between the compact and the sniper, I find it really comfortable.
I’ve owned the gun for about a year now and ever since I got it I noticed quite a bit of recoil, the gun stock is very light and I believe that is the reason why its got the shakes when it shoots.
I’ve been swaging my own slugs for a while now from a Corbin press, I found that the stx superior barrel likes the .218’s better than the .217’s but even though I’ve found the right slug, I’m still having trouble making decent groups at longer distances and I believe it’s the recoil that it affecting my groupings.
I have tried a couple of different things this last week, I shot groups with the gun held really loose, once the shoot went off, I let the gun jump wherever it wanted, then, I tried a couple of groups with the gun held really tight trying to follow through and stay on target as long as possible after the shot and the groups got tighter but not great.
I have tuned the gun to be consistent, I tried different velocities from 980 down to 940, couldn’t Get groups down below 2-2 1/2 inches.
Anyone experiencing this? Any tips on holding the gun? Could it be the liner (stx superior)? Should I try different velocities? I checked that everything is tightly screwed.
BTW I have an Impact MK2 that shoots amazing, no recoil, incredible groups at longer distances.
Thanks guys,

Lucas
