1701P and Prod in AR stocks, each rigged with regs, lightweight hammers and valves modded for extra plenum space. Strikers, poppets and TPs made from PEEK. Tuned to get max power from a .42 spring (prod) or a .36 spring (1701P) for easy cocking. 18fpe from the Prod shooting 16grain JTS and 11.7fpe from the 1701P shooting JSB 10.34s. Custom shrouds make sure these gals don’t spook their targets. The 1701P is barely a blip on the sound meter. Couple minutes and either one can transform to a pistol. Prod gets 24shots and the 1701P gets 18 on the reg:

FX  Fx impact m4 800mm extended barrel potential....

Hey everyone, I've had an impact m4 .35 for a few weeks now. I have it tuned currently to shoot 93 grain .357 NSA slugs at 900fps +/-. I was beginning to wonder if a higher than 875-880 fps was possible with a stock piece, and apparently it is. This comes out to a wicked 167 foot pounds. I know with this rifle being so new that there may not be a lot out there about it's true potential and user's experiences. It is truly a work of art when you have this thing to the sweet spots. Cheers everyone

Air Venturi  Avenger Owners Sound Off

Hello, with the Avenger having been out for around four years, I'm looking for feedback from those who have owned them for most/all of that time. What would you list as the pros and cons of ownership?

Do any parts break after a certain number of shots and do they stay sealed well?

I'm considering one and am looking for feedback.

Thank you,

Snowpeak  Zelos-M60 Side By Side Comparison, Specs & More

I just got my Zelos in .25 today for a special project but before I start working on it, I wanted to do a real side by side comparison of the gun, the barrel, special features and any differences.

Cocking handles, selector switch and trigger are the same but the selector switch on the Zelos has some new paint. The Zelos also has its name on the lever side. The trigger guard was aftermarket on the M60 from AGRF and does fit the Zelos if you order one from Wes. There are no other differences

20241018_164528 (2024-10-19T00_23_00.628).jpg

The very first thing I saw was the barrel and shroud. The Zelos sports a 650mm barrel while the M60 sports a 600mm barrel while the shroud on the Zelos makes the gun much longer overall. While that's not a lot of difference, it can have an impact on portability while hunting and pesting as well as backpacking.

The left side of the receiver is where all the fun is. The Zelos gets a degassing screw! YEA! Also present is a new 5k burst disk for safety. I guess I dont see the need for 5k this far after the regulator but hey, SAP, thanks for the effort...

I spoke of the barrel length differences and the Zelos shroud length already but the engineers didn't stop with dropping easter eggs on this gun, we have a 3-3/8" unfilled space for.... something?

Was it going to be a baffle stack? An Insert? A secret hiding place for cash and prizes? Dunno but other than an expansion chamber, it fails as a moderator where about a buck worth of baffles may have sucked but it would have been an attempt at sound dampening.

Opportunity missed....

If you got all this way into this post and missed the first sentence, I'll fill you in on the special project but first, let me ask you all looking at the Zelos and thinking about purchasing one this question. Is there any interest in a 500mm compact version?

Yupper, 500mm, barrel threaded to 1/2x20 UNF at the end, no adapters, no extended shroud. Look at the above measurements, the barrel would end at the 19.6" mark, 2-1/4" past the picrail. Add a 200cc CF bottle, you have a nicely compact Zelos.

I'd like your feedback, good or bad.

FWA

P.S. More to be added as I get into the gun more, like why are the tubes and bottles missing?

Taipan  Taipan Veteran 2 found a new home

Bought a Taipan Vetran 25 caliber from a member here. I already have a Taipan Veteran long in 25 which I also bought several years ago from someone on this site also. It was getting lonely so. Had to get it. Anyway I've shot some pellets through it and I've been playing with slugs also. Really liking this as much as my vet long. I'm liking this slug thing other than the price of them. The buyer threw in a half tin of JSB KO 33.49 it likes them at 948 fps. I also tried NSA it didn't like those. I also tried javelin 2's , and avs slugs I think I could also get both these to shoot well also. But since I bought several tins of JSB KO's that's what I'm sticking with. I did end up cleaning the JSB KO's in the ultrasonic cleaning and slightly lubing with silicone. Don't think it improved accuracy. Hoping it cuts down on cleaning. Don't know why there's not more attention about this pcp. Oh it's the 700 from talon tunes the previous owner told me. Shot these pics and groups over several days as I was experimenting. The 80 yds was this evening.

FX Hybrid slugs quality

All my FX Hybrid .22 have to be cleaned, too much lead dust and debris. cosmetically wise they are subpar quality, in the same level as Crosman Premiere. it's like buying a Ferrari but it's manufactured and built by Hyundai, lots of lead shavings, FX spent a lot of money on the packaging and marketing but not putting much thought onto practicality.

How about making them available in 200 or 300 rounds in a tin can instead? I love my Impact M4 but I'm not one to drink the FX Koolaid, the fancy packaging went straight into the trash, too impractical and pain in the rear to get them out of the plastic tray for reload, i just flip and dump all of them them onto napkin to clean and lube them lightly, then placed them into empty Crosman Premiere .22 tin can, each tin can hold 300 rounds easily. The Hybrid shoot just fine from my 600mm stock M4, will use them mostly for pesting since they have better expansion than other slugs.

All the NSA I've received thus far are so much cleaner with better built quality, they came lightly lubed already, for 1/2 the cost of the FX Hybrid.

N/A  Alright I'm hooked, send it on a higher end rifle?

Having no experience with PCP air rifles and a penchant for questionable impulse buys I picked up a Notos and a compressor a couple of months ago. Thankfully it panned out because I've had a ridiculous amount of fun with this little air rifle! I had intended to modify the heck out of it, but aside from boring the air transfer port to 3.6mm I've decided I like it the way it is and will keep it as my light and fun plinker. (If anyone's got a line on some barrel O-rings that don't cost 15 bucks for 2 that'd be awesome).

Alas im a "shoot tiny groups at far distances" guy at heart and an avid squirrel hunter. While I love the Notos I understand it has its limitations. Unfortunately I have analysis paralysis in the sea of mid range to high end rifles that all seem to shoot sub moa on youtube. I'm currently in a position where the mid range is attractive for the savings but I'm afraid to lose the barrel lottery, and frankly parts availability concerns me. Meanwhile spending $1600 on a nice rifle is a chunk of change and I don't want to be afraid to drag the thing around the woods with me.

So what are your thoughts and experiences? Send it? Or buy a mid range gun and work my way into it?

N/A  Springers and how far above Sea level you are….

IMG_2457.jpeg
IMG_2457.jpeg
So I bought my HW95n from AoA in AZ.
AZ IS 4100ft above sea level
And where im
At in Iowa we are at 1100ft above sea level.

Is there a chart to determine the difference in power output based on Elevation.

AoA cronied it at 750fps at their 4100ft
How much more can I expect at 1100 ft?

I will chrony it here one day when I have time.

Air Venturi  New Air venturi avenger not filling at all

I bought a new avenger and after degassing I was ready to full to adjust regular. I hooked up my compressor with a quick connect and attached to the nipple. Sat for 5 min with it running and both gauges have not moved at all. When I disconnect the hose air is indeed running. There are no leaks at quick connect to ripple. So i have no idea where the air is going. Please help I have no idea what to do and really want to start using my new toy

1st squirrel hunt of the year with my 10yr old son

Well, it's too early for me for squirrels hunting but the boy wanted to go. I like the leaves gone and much colder for myself. My son is off for fall break and wanted to take his 10/22 I put together for him so off we went. He slept in and it's pretty windy here so wasn't expecting much. We hunted about 1 hr in 2 different spots but no action. It was still a great hunt. It's good to get my kid away from his phone and video games and just hang out together. I used the time to teach him about squirrels and calling them and what to look for. It's the little things you know him playing with a lady bug made my day. No squirrels for the pot but my day was perfect.

I took the 97 in 20

Sometimes they just get a pass.

As fall approaches ,I find myself less aggressive on taking the big Fox squirrels. They are scowering for food to prep for torpor. I find it provides me with a robust fresh group that make it through the Winter for spring breeding .. I refuse to not shoot the Reds/ Pine squirrels as they are active year round and are very damaging to my location..

This one walked out on that lone branch and we locked eyes.. I gave him a nod,and on he went.

Finally, a High Quality compact scope

Cameraland sent me an email introducing a new line of Geman scopes called GPO Centuri. These are compact (9.9 inches) and lightweight (20 oz) and cost less than $600. They are FFP (although I prefer SFP), illuminated reticle and focus down to 10 yards. All the features I've been looking for. I hope someone writes a review soon (Joe?).
