  • Question
Valve Rod Length C1 Length

I have a MK 2 with the new power plenum. And I was having trouble not getting enough hammer spring force to overcome the pressure in regulator... to push a 25 cal slug efficiently (I figure around 965 fps will do... I'm at 950 when I start losing power if I up the regulator with Maximum hammer spring applied. So I ordered and exchanged the new 16mm hammer spring adjuster and the notched cup it attaches to. Still not enough hammer spring adjustment. So I ordered a HUMA Air hammer spring replacement (reported as more powerful). When I replaced the spring I noted that the valve seat in the rear did not fit flush. To get it to fit flush I had to back off the hammer adjustment way lose. The problem from what I can see is when C1 is screwed down, it was hitting the hammer, and sucking in the rear valve.. lifting it off the seat. So I measured the C1 extrusion and it is 4.89mm. I think most videos on YouTube state it should be 6 to 6.5mm. Yes I measured correctly. I don't know how to adjust it other than unscrewing C1.. which is already a pain to keep solid, not sure how that is even possible with 1.25mm less thread engagement. Also don't like the idea of the hammer slamming thru threaded portion of the rod. Are these rods too short? Is there another adjustment? Any suggestions would help. Thanks.. Joe

  • Question
If you could shoot a lead Diabolo pellet at 1400FPS, what would be the factors that would cause it to destabilize?

This should (hopefully) be a fun question for the group:
If you could shoot a lead Diabolo pellet at 1400FPS, what would be the factors that would cause it to destabilize?
  • Would the blast of air required to get it to that velocity deform the skirt against the barrel?
  • Would the "dirty air" coming out behind the pellet flip it over?
  • Would the rifeling be too fast regardless such that the pellet wouldn't spin, but just get torn up on the way down the barrel?
    • Would a smooth-twist barrel fix that issue?
    • Badger5th suspects that the head of the pellet may get blown off and leave the skirt in the breech
  • Would the increased barrel-whip be the nail-in-the-coffin?
  • The BC would be jacked up and cause the pellet to get into trans-sonic soon after firing (Scotchmo's contribution and "hurrumphed" by others)
  • Increased Gyroscopic Effect if the pellet engages the rifeling (Dizzums contribution)
  • What am I missing?

  • Question
10 meter sights

Advice please : i've recently began pursuit in bringing a chinese b3-1 to a different level. Have planned some stock modifications a tune and some trigger work if possible finally found the proper scope and ring combo I was actually seeking for one of the crosmans. .plans change monthly.

I also plan to do a b1 for a kiddo and was hoping to head down a different rabbit hole than that which Alice seems to like. Biggest issue foreseen is getting the slop and rattle out of the barrel. Doable im sure . I would like to set this up for 10 meter issf style ( practice) for the 1/2 decade youth it is planned for. So Advise on Diopter sights that will fit a dovetail grove/rail and front globe ? Is that right. Please. Something affordable but of decent lineage..since Ive allready planneed 3 times the cost of the rifle into the rifle 180 is about max for sights.

FX Impact M3 .22 700mm Slug Tunes and Settings

Hi Everyone

I have a few questions regarding my M3.

  1. Im Shooting slugs in the range of 25gr and 30gr, and would like to know what you guys have found to be the most efficient tunes for your different slugs to shoot between 980fps and 1020fps. My gun is completely stock and I have found that I'm currently getting the best results with the H&N 27gr. Im shooting them at 1002fps pretty consistently. I have my 1st reg at at 185 and second reg at 148 , macro on 16 and micro on 4,3. the valve adjustor is on line 4.5. I am zerod in at 25m. The shot below is a 5 shot group at 67m (74 yards) and my results are pretty consistent but I do find that it also varies based on conditions (obviously) which brings the next Q
    Screenshot_20220905-162330_Gallery.jpg

2. My goal is to be shooting sub MOA groups out at 150 and 200m and beyond, how big of a difference does it make adding the carbon fiber sleeve to stiffen up the barrel and would anyone suggest also looking into a barrel band that connects the the carbon fiber bottle. Can the standard 700mm sniper tension up the barrel or does one need to purchase a tensioning kit?

3. I'm currently using the standard pin probe and I have turned my barrel around to the slug port, would it be beneficial for me to also upgrade to the slug pin probe ?

I'm am pretty happy with all the results I am getting and these are a few questions I have, the persuit of perfection in the pcp comes at great costs , but I'm more interested in the small things that could assist as the things I have mentioned above, I still need to eat.

Thanks in Advance Manne

  • Question
FX gages vs soft rifle cases.

Hello all, hope your weekend is going well.

I'm almost done setting up my fx dreamline Tactical (different scope will be ordered in a few weeks) and I'm coming close to needing a case. I've been rocking the original box so far.

I have rimfire and centerfire powder burners. There's a muzzle stuffer around here somewhere as well. So.... I have cases! Both hard and soft. I hate hard cases.... they don't fit well in all vehicles and are awkward. I've put a lot of fun tokens into this project and need something to protect it bouncing around in the truck bed, strapped to the ATV, sitting in the corner, etc.

While there are a myriad of options for both hard and soft cases around. Im trying to way to pros and cons of each type to get the best for this situation.

I started out thinking something like the Pelican 1750 would be the best. That thing is 23 pounds-ish empty and I still need to carry a few things. I just have not measured the thickness of the rifle to see if that ones is the model I need for sure.

I've been looking at the Eberlestock sniper sled drag bag. I own a few things from them and they've lasted pretty well over about 10 years. It has an additional pad for "carrying 2 rifles" that I thought might help protect the Wika gages. So far its main appeal is the pocket setups. I do not care to carry 250 count pellet tins in an AR mag pouch.... especially a velcro one.

I have another square bag that has a fold out half mat that holds 2 rifles similar to something like the eberlestock. I like the idea... I dont like the weight it gets to :p... I got that for carrying deer rifles on the farm when rifle cases were mandatory, after that it was just in a steel bed side by side.

These gages are my biggest concern. I'd hate to get a heavy case just to protect them but the gages are expensive and I have had bow sights knocked off in cheap soft cases... during peak rut with 2 hours to sunset... I dont want to ruin any more hunts over silly things like this.

Anyone have luck keeping the reg and bottle gages safe in somewhat adverse conditions with these soft cases?

I could not find anything exact when I searched the forums.

Putting a moisture filter on my Benjamin hand pump: Inline filter, or the Benjamin desiccant?

So the title pretty much sums up the question. Which is the best at removing the moisture from the pumped air?

I'm using the Benjamin pump for a Marauder, and pumbing to about 2600 lbs. With the desiccant filter you can view the color change without opening the filter,
the Air Venturi inline filter you need to open it to inspect the filter material. Maybe it's a coin toss? Any advice?

Tuning  Aea hp carbine barrel porting question

Hi all. First post here. I picked up a aea hp carbine in 25 cal afew months ago and running it through my chronograph. From the factory it was shooting about 900 fps. Since shimming the hammer spring and cleaning up the burrs on the barrel ports its now close to the advertised 950 fps. I'm getting about 935 with the 25gr jsp. Has anyone ported the 6 holes on the barrel over the size to see a power increase. I took a .098 drill bit to the holes just to clean up the burrs but was curious about going bigger for better air flow to the pellet.

  • Question
Tactical long range.25

This will be my first post on this awesome forum and I also like to ask the community to forgive my poor English, I had to lea by myself and the most is a remaining from my trip all across the USA in the nineties…

On the search for a new benchrest only pcp in cal. 25, I was aiming towards the new Uragan 2. But since I do already have one of them in different cal., I’d liked to get something different and also more in the “Tactical” style…
Same for the LCS SK-19

Priority is of course the best precision but also as silent as possible too

After excluding FX (too much tinkering), AEA (Chinese), Hatsan&co (Turkish), I’ve ended up with a closer look towards the RAW HM1000 chassis… Just asking: I found it at PA in both versions, just threaded or with the “silencer” included over the barrel, but both of them were rated 4-pretty loud… an error or does this moderator actually not work a lot ?…

Any other suggestions ? (After watching lots of reviews, it seems the Gunnar is not the most accurate and the Ibex as single shot anyway no consideration…). Maybe the Air Arms S510 in the Tactical version ? How would it compare to the RAW ?

Any thoughts and advices would be highly appreciated !

Thanks a lot and heartily cheers from over the pond :)

Wildcat MK3 reg adjustment location - manual not matching

Hi all, I’m new to air rifles and this site. Thanks for having me. I pulled the stock off per the instructions and there is no adjustment as shown in the manual. Looking online it says the brass adjustment on the exterior is the reg adjustment. Maybe its a recent upgrade? There is also the screw circled in yellow in the attached pics but I’m pretty sure that’s not it. Can some one confirm I’m moving the correct screw before I mess something up?
I’m using the tune guide on “dang ole winners “ you tube Chanel to get my 33g jsbs tuned. I adjusted my hammerspring to max so I would not cock and then ran it in a full 3 turns. My speeds are flat 835-840 on setting 4 and 5. 7. So, I’m looking to increase my reg to 125 ish from 100 (!terrible gauge) to get my reg , hammerspring and speed all in harmony. Thanks for any help. I look forward Being a part of the community.

  • Question
Has anyone attempted a caliber barrel change on the Hatsan Blitz?

Has anyone attempted a caliber barrel change on the Hatsan Blitz? I'm curious to know if the barrels of different calibers can be swapped on the blitz receiver. Hatsan reps claimed that the pellet probe would also need to be changed but I can't Imagine why yet. And of course the mags would need to match the caliber. If Hatsan offered this as an option along with good maintenance and repair info and support this gun would have made much more noise in the industry.

[SOLVED] FX Maverick Compact .177 Cal Main Block has safety screw - remove before shooting.

Hi All FX Maverick Owners!
Has any of Your Maverick Gun, esp. the compact in .177/.22 Cal got a Hammer Limiting Screw?
Asking as mine has got one in the screw-hole indicated in picture where it goes…
This is not present in Parts List either.

This essentially is limiting the hammer to how far it can push the Valve Pin and also so it doesn’t hit the Valve Block.

Will help if You can post Block pictures of Your FX Maverick…

Thanks!
