FX  FX Impact vs DRS vs King Question

Hi,

I've been shooting centerfire the last 3 years, so I haven't been keeping up with Airgun developments, but recently my last two PCPs (RAW HM1000 and a FX Crown Continuum) and a bunch of my powder burners were liberated from my storage unit. I was storing them while our house was being remodeled and I thought they would be safer in storage than in my house with all of the construction crews coming and going, but that proved to be incorrect. At least it is all insured.

I still have all of my filling equipment and a ton of 25 Cal ammo, so I will probably buy a least one new PCP. It will be used primarily for practice and pest control. The FX DRS Pro/MDT is interesting because I run a MDT ACC Elite Chassis on my primary PB competition rifle, but it's expensive and has a very limited shot count. I'm also considering the FX King (probably would buy a synthetic and swap out the stock for a Saber Tac Chassis) and maybe an Impact. I owned one of the early Impacts which I really liked, but I ultimately sold it because I spent more time tinkering with it than shooting it.

I'm assuming the newer Impacts are probably a much more stable platform than when I previously had one, but I'd love to hear from some folks that are currently running Impact M3s or M4s. I know they shoot great, but I want to be able to take an air rifle out of the safe and know I can pop a pest with it even if I haven't touched the rifle in months. That wouldn't have been the case with my first Impact. That was what I loved about the Crown. It could sit for months and would never lose pressure and would shoot just like it did when I put it in the safe.

If you have personal experience with any of these rifles, I'd greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts. I'm probably leaning towards the Impact right now primarily for it's versatility and accuracy if it's not going to be a maintenance headache.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Umarex  NOTOS : SCOPE & FPE QUESTION

Hey everyone -
I've made some progress on my Notos so far, upgrading to FX 380mm barrel & CF shroud from c88, UTG BugBuster scope, polished some internals, etc... - I recently put everything back together after some deep cleaning & attempting to change out the poppet valve with an MCP version, but proved to be a little off - I was advised by a senior that the design can be problematic - stem length, etc - so I went back to the stock. All that aside, I get everything back together and with a chrony on the end I shot off several mags - and started out, I was hitting 400+FPE (?) - and what was weird is that by the time I fired the 30th pellet, it's back up to 790 where it was before cleaning. (I did use correct lubricants on the different components) - so I let it sit a day, came back to it and refilled to 3600 - and same thing. Gradual increases up to the 790 it was set at before. I'd noticed a couple of times even before all the cleaning that my first cold shots were coming out 500-ish FPE, but next couple jumped up to par.
Second, my scope alignment. I was finally zeroed in where windage/elevation were right around their mids left-right / top-bottom adjustments. I put back on and laser boresight, the windage isn't centered without the adjustment maxed out...I took off, loosened & retightened the rear pic mounting screws as I read the POI is sometimes an issue from the Notos' short rear pic rail - then put everything back together super carefully - and same thing. I shot to make sure it wasn't the boresight laser, but it wasnt' the laser.
So in short, Scope alignment must be off somehow, but what would have changed? And what would I focus on first to improve my FPE to shoot what it should on the first cold shot? I appreciate any ideas, I"m learning as much as I can. Thank you -

Vevor Compressor no start

Back in August I purchased a PCP air rifle, then I purchased a Vevor Compressor. When it arrived the box was damaged. After inspection one of the cooling line fittings was broke off, no big deal to replace. I also found the top air line bent. I contacted Vevor for a replacement, they refused and wanted a video of it running. I told them they were nuts to think I was going to start a damaged 4500psi compressor and video it for them. They persisted and requested a video before anything could be done. I turned the table on them and requested an email of them accepting liability if anything went wrong while making their video. They immediately refunded my money and said dispose of the compressor. I took the compressor to a company in Edmonton AB that deals in high pressure SS air lines. They inspected and assured me that the lines are meant to be formed and the extra bends are no issue. At this pint I hunted down the special oil required and filled it. When I plugged it in and hit the start button, all it did was buzz or humm. The Vevor compressor failed to start. I can turn the compressor by hand and it rotates.I tested the start capacitor and its good. I dont think the start capacitor is getting power. Can anyone shed some light on this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. I am almost at the end of my patience regarding this venture and tending to want to sell the Air Rifle and be done with it

FX  Impact m4 proper hammer seat install

So added some hammer weight to my m4, watched some assembly videos for the hammerseat. They say 6-6.25mm for the hammer seat, however I noticed that now the gun won't chock when the micro wheel is above #4. Is there something Im missing? Is there an actual service manual available for the fx impact rather than videos?

  • Question
Other  Quick release coupling... Standard?

Hello,

First I would like to point out that I checked the forum, but I haven't found really conclusive answers.

I own an Ataman AP16. I fill it with a Hills mk5 and it works great. I was using the "threaded" probe and I had no leaks.
Last week, I received my new Gk1 v3 and it comes with a quick disconnect coupling. My Hills mk5 doesn't come with this, so I ordered one.

My AP16 came with a quick coupling male probe, and it seems to seal fine with the Hills female quick disconnect.
However, it doesn't seem to work with the Gk1 probe.

Let me show you - I attached pictures.
Somehow I feel like the "retaining" lip of the Gk1 (steel) is shorter than the Ap16 (brass), and so with the Gk1 probe there's a bit of "give" and it doesn't seal. If I apply pressure on the Gk1 probe it seems to seal better, but I wouldn't bet 300 bar on this :)

Another thing - notice the green o-rings in the female fitting - before and after coupling it with either probes - the o-rings seem to be moving out of place, and I am wondering if it's missing a smaller o-ring at the very back to keep the stack "in compression".

I'm a bit confused, and I don't seem to find a standard or norm to Google for. Dimensions seem to be arbitrary - is there any support material I could use to order the right parts? Ideally, I'd like to be able to swap probes without screwing / unscrewing.

Thanks!

The "retaining lips" seem to be of different size... So the Gk1 doesn't go as far in the female fitting maybe?

The fitting before attaching anything to it. Notice the green o-rings are correctly placed.

The fitting after attaching either the Gk1 probe or the Ap16 probe. Notice how the o-rings seem to have moved / twisted...

All parts, side by side, maybe you can spot that I'm doing something very obviously silly?

Diana  RWS Diana Model 5 pistol- squeaks

I've rencently purchased a Model 5, 1980's vintage I think, and it works well. However, when cocking it makes a high picted squeek. I was thinking it was the main air seal inside the gun so I put a couple of drops of RWS silicone lube thru the breach hole. However, it still squeeks. Could the spring be making this noise possibly?

Any info would be appreciated. I've never dissembled it so I'm not sure how difficult it would be to lube the main spring, PS.

FX  Fx Bobcat Mkll

Hi All ,
New to the site and to pcp airguns.
I inherited 3 Pcp’s one being a bobcat mkll .30. I have been researching replacing o-rings so I started taking apart air tube and removing two screws from bottom of stock but can not remove stock , it will not budge. From wht I’ve read it should lift straight out. Any help would be appreciated.

Pumps and compressors

Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a reliable hand pump in which I prefer over an electric pcp air compressor. Something that goes up to 5000psi. I've had a few pumps so far and they both craped out on me. I damaged my compressor that's rated at 4500psi on my huben gk1 pistol which everyone knows is 5000psi max fill lol. And recommendations?

AEA  HP ss plus

Hello everyone. I own a hp ss plus and I have an issue with the trigger. When I fire a round it won't fire after I follow up with another shot. I can still pull the trigger but I have to recock the pistol to fire again. It's like the gun went from semi auto to having to recock after every shot. Has anyone experienced this and/or willing to share how to fix this problem?

FX  Impact M3 valve adjuster hitting barrel shroud

Hello Nation,

Just purchased a new .22 Impact M3 and was going through all the basics and setting up the rifle. When attempting to adjust the valve adjuster, I noticed that the valve adjuster was hitting the barrel shroud, making it impossible to open passed 3.5 lines. This is my first PCP so I’m still learning everything. What do I need to adjust in order to move the shroud away from the valve adjustment knob?

N/A  Walther LP400 red dot mount

Hi , I am new to this forum , and somewhat new to air gun. I am lucky enough to have just purchased a Walther LP 400. The club I shoot at allows red dot for competition. I am looking for ideas on mounting a red dot on the Walther. Seems to me the best idea is to use a barrel mount picatinny. Please let me know some ideas.
Thank you ,

FX  M4 help!

Ok just got my impact m4 and trying to get to around 950 fps with around 26-32 grain slugs and the gun won't do it. I'm getting around 850's fps
I heard a stock impact should shoot up to around 34 grain slugs before mods.
I also seen the threads of the cold shot problems with the o-ring and rod issues.
So I'm curious if my expectations of a stock fx are wrong and need a heavier hammer or if I should take the gun apart and inspect if for some issues?
I've tried bumping the reg til it won't shoot any higher, maxed out the hammer tension settings and maxed out valve adjustment. Then turned all down etc etc tried a lot before asking.
My set up
Stock hammer
700mm heavy stx
Pin probe
Dual port down for slugs
Shot a lot of different companies slugs, different weights and tried .217 and .218 with no big difference.
I got a couple heavier hammers inbound

Thank for the help!
