I have been shooting the .218 H&N 34gr. heavy from my DRS.my question is what is the best tune or speed for H&N .22 34gr slugs. I am shooting them out of a FX maverick at 945 fps but it seems like I am getting some flyers but I am not sure if it is due to my tune or speed that I am shooting them.
I use one I found on amazon, it is for treadmills.... But, any pure silicone oil will suffice.Any particular type you'd recommend?
I tried the H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66gn which also did great but I'll have to try the Baracuda Match, thanks for the suggestion. Not bad at all. I had very good results with baracuda match 5.52mm out if my notos. They were averaging 666 fps too, which makes them even more deadly!
They were quiet, laser accurate hammers out to 40. Off a rest They would give me a single ragged hole.
Dunno if you've tried those yet, but they're worth it to see.
Dropped this rabbit at 45-50 yards or so with the Cuda 21s. Hit exactly where I was aiming.

I also shoot from a spare bedroom window. The mirage can be managed some by reducing the size of the opening. I use 2” styrofoam to cover the open window with a 6”x10” section cut out to shoot thru. This also helps keep the room at a comfortable temperature. UjI shoot out of our bedroom window when it gets cold.
It helps reduce mirage if I turn on the bathroom fan to reduce the amount the amount of warm air going out the window.
I don’t have any of the features that you mentioned other than my projectile speedI just wrote a reply after seeing someone ask about it on my feed, but I thought I would take a second to write what I thought and how it worked and all the pro's I saw. Also for the price point being a 2-300 less than the FX Chrony I thought this info might be useful to some of you guys.
Sooooooo, I recently started using the Garmin Xero C1 Pro with my PCP air rifle, and I have to say, it’s completely changed the way I shoot. . My goal was simple: I wanted a setup that could help me be more consistent at varying ranges without all the guesswork of holdovers and using separate tools. After using it for a while now, I can confidently say it’s been worth every penny.
At first, I wasn’t sure how well the Xero would pair with my PCP rifle, but it’s surprisingly intuitive. The Xero mounts easily and functions as both a rangefinder and a holdover calculator. Once I calibrated it for my rifle, it became my go-to tool for improving accuracy. It ranges targets instantly—just press a button, and you get the exact distance. No fumbling for a separate rangefinder or trying to estimate the range by eye. Then, using that distance and the data you’ve programmed, it provides a precise aiming point. It takes into account your pellet’s trajectory, so you don’t have to guess or calculate holdovers in your head. For someone like me who used to hesitate taking shots past 125-150 yards, it’s been a total confidence booster.
One of the features I love most is the ability to set up multiple profiles. I’ve got one profile for my .22 PCP rifle and another for my .30 cal. Switching between them is seamless, so whether I’m out hunting or just plinking at the range, the Xero adapts to what I need. It’s like having a personalized ballistics expert with me at all times.
The biggest improvement I’ve noticed is in my accuracy, especially at longer distances. Before using the Xero, I’d sometimes misjudge holdover and end up with frustrating misses. Now, I can trust the data it gives me and focus entirely on my shot. It’s also a huge time saver, especially when I’m hunting. Instead of spending precious seconds figuring out range and trajectory, I can range, aim, and shoot quickly and confidently. In fact, it’s been a game-changer for small game hunting. I’ve had clean, ethical shots at distances I wouldn’t have even attempted before.
That said, setting it up took less than 2 minutes. Calibrating it to my air rifle was easy just plug and play, once I got it dialed in, it’s been rock solid. I’d recommend taking your time during setup to ensure everything is accurate—you’ll thank yourself later. And yes, the Xero isn’t cheap, but it sure as hell beats the 800+ price range of its competition, but for anyone serious about precision shooting, it’s absolutely worth the investment. It’s like having an entire shooting system built into a compact device.
As we all know a chronograph is a must with Airguns so i highly highly recommend the Xero, usually im skeptical when something is priced lower than the comp but, Garmin is reliable as a company so I gave it a shot and it's been worth it. I’m curious if anyone else here has tried the Xero or something similar with their PCP setup. How has it worked for you? Let’s share tips and experiences—I’d love to hear what others think!
Thanks for the info!Anything above 740 gets it warping and expanding. Anything above 800 opens it up, above 825 gets mushroomed.. 920 is the max I've pushed one this far. I have a DRS and Barra250z currently on the way, I plan on using the 19 Or 21gr LDC at insanely high velocity as my main projectile for squirrel and rabbit. I know the Drs will be fine as the superior 1:24 groups them better than pellets in my notos and crown. I'm a definite believer.

The CS4 is internally water cooled..No buckets of water...I just got a CS4 for topping off SCBA tanks and filling pcp tanks..Im pretty impressed with initial perfotmance if cs4..I have used a yong heng for three years,,i put about 10 pistons in it along with various other repairs..I bought my cs4 on ebay used refurbished for $350.00 and $55.00 shipping.. I will tell you in year how good the cs4 is... It fills quiet ,safe, pretty easy to use...I will have to see the operation of it but yes no more buckets of ice water preferred.
