Lastest verison of the yong heng compressor. Anyone try it?

Since it only rated to 4500 psi and is not water cooled, it's more than likely a clone or knock-off of a CS-3 or CS-3i. Comparing it to a CS-3i, that's not a bad price, but I would be concerned about durability and length of service. GX Pumps has gotten a very good reputation for the durability of their compressors and their customer service!

Here's the CS-3i for comparison.
Success for the GX-CS Series lies in low gearing with subsequent less heat generation. While the GX-CS platform will take longer to fill than the featured compressor, there's a serious price to pay in longevity. Even if made by the same manufacturer of the "water-bucket" Yong Heng, this platform is completely different and has a limited lifetime. WM

FX  The older guns that never get mentioned. My FXT12FT.

Most of my guns fall under the they are well past being discussed because they are no longer made or old fashioned compared to the current offerings. I forget when the T12 was even made. I picked this one up used on Craigslist a few years ago. It had a slight leak and the owner had the trigger way out of whack. Perfect for me.

I got this out a few days ago and was having a failure of the sear to engage. Easy fix, first stage screw had just backed out a bit. Figured I would post some pics.

Rifle has is 12 shot, 220 bar fill, is .22 and tuned for 20ftlbs. Gets a ton of shots and is boringly accurate with even Crosman PremierHP.

A Dynamic Duo

nice! are they quiet as is or do you add a moderator
I live in Canada where moderators are illegal. ☹️

The two PCPs are not overly loud for their power. Typical, as compared to my other PCPs.

That being said, the Panthera at 60 to 80 yards is "less disturbing" to the other squirrels in the area and the squirrel being targeted doesn't run away. 😉

Even if I could add a moderator, I plan on detuning the DRS from it's current 30 fpe to 18-20 fpe which is plenty for sub 40 yard shooting. I'm getting a bout 33 shots on a fill (plenty for a hunt) but lower power should increase the shot count which is better when plinking - and that should make it a bit more backyard friendly at the same time.

Cheers!

Are there any differences on benchrest that you'd do between air rifle and shooting 308?

Are there any differences on benchrest that you'd do between air rifle and shooting 308?
There are a few differences, mostly related to being subsonic vs supersonic. Pellets vs bullets (if using pellets). Recoil management is different but the recoil does need to be managed….there are differences in ‘free recoil’ between different setups. Projectiles to barrel fit are not standardized and so there are more combinations to try but that rabbit hole can be like drinking from a fire hose.

I have learned that air is picky about everything in one’s setup. I assume it’s due to the relatively long time it remains in the barrel that allows for all the flies to get in the house, so to speak.

Quite a few more I’m sure I’m missing but there are obvious carry overs. Trigger control, solid rest, good glass, etc. are some of the basics. If doing your own smithing, taper lapped barrel, solid bedding, heavier weight barrel, etc. still apply.

Just my experiences between the two so far, I’m still absorbing it all though.

Beeman  Getting my feet wet!

I’ve been looking at springers for several months. Been reading on this forum and researching a few dealer’s websites for reviews on springers that I favored. Finally settled on an R9 in .22 cal. I ordered a Hawke Airmax 4-16 Compact with Sports Match adjustable rings. As soon as I got it, I made several passes through the barrel with J-B honing paste then cleaned it well. Mounted the rings then ran a honing bar through them to make sure of a good seat. I struggled the first 100 rounds to get a decent pattern with Hades Diabolo 15.89’s. I’m about 200 into it now and after a few adjustments I think I’m finally onto a good pattern at 15 yds.(I started there because of a squirrel issue I have in my front yard just outside of a dormer window about the same distance) I also have H-N Terminator 16.36 that I have not tried yet. Starting to see the light and a smile every time I squeeze the trigger. Already have sights on an AA TX200 and a PS. As soon as the acorns dry up in the front yard, it will be raining squirrels!!🐿️

Being a two two, you should try the H&N field target trophy 14.66 gr. often one of the most accurate pellets in HW two two's.

FX  Impact M3 slug or pellet port?

Non its fine. All you need to worry about is if the hammers energy is too low causing a larger jump than you want. Thats based on personal choice and how you want it to perform. I usually like to see 10 fps or less jump since my tunes hold single digit easily with regulated rifles. That way if I take a longer shot and it happens to be at the point of velocity jump it wont cause a poi issue.

Other  ASG Bersa BP9 problem

Looking for a source to repair a malfunctioning Bersa BP9 CO2 pistol.

It holds CO2 but after cocking and shooting one BB, with blowback, the gun does not re-cock or shoot and BBs fall out of the muzzle. If I re-cock by cycling the slide, I am able to get another “shot” but likely with two BBs.

I myself am not qualified to take my airguns apart, so if anyone here is a confident “airgunsmith”, or knows of those who do such things, I would be happy to send the gun on for whatever agreement is deemed fair. I will of course reach out to ASG, who apparently makes this airgun, and see if they have resources for repair. Many thanks.

Debit/credit card protection?

I personally would never use a debit card for any purchases. I only use a CC. If there's fraud I let the CC company take care of it and I don't have to worry about someone emptying my bank account. Just pay it off by the end of the pay period. A big plus is you also get points that you can use to purchase airgun stuff.
Yeah, this is the reason I don't use any payment methods that are linked to my bank account. It might not be any more prone for fraud, but if it happens, it's my money being drained in real time.

AEA Pellets and Speed versus JSB, etc.

I don't think there's a magic number for accuracy. Plenty of guys using .177 and .22 down to 500 fps or less with excellent accuracy. I have a couple. 22s shooting at 650 fps with good accuracy. The 750-920 fps range with a standard weight around 14.3 gr , imo , puts you in a nice power range for squirrel size pests. Of course the heavier weight pellets excell in fpe at similar fps . I shoot the AEA 18gr at 890 fps in my Taipan and the 25.4s at 912 in the Maverick with all the accuracy I could ask for . I shoot the JSBs at the same settings. I could shoot pellets at 1000+ plus fps but I would just be waiting air for my pesting needs.
