This is actually objective and can be compared against by not only a consumer, but a companies tech‘s to help decide if an RMA is justified or not.

I bought a twelve year old Diana that was new in the box. Without even giving it a thought followed the above instructions to the letter. But I also did what ever I could with the trigger. It is just kinda how it works.

The next rifle BSA produced after the revered prewar underlevers produced 1905 to 1939.
The earliest Mk1 stocks have the BSA stamp on the side of the buttstock. The grip cap is not original.
That was BSA's first air rifle produced in 1948 to 1958 after the 1940 destruction of the factory. BSA were producing Enfields (SMLE) for the war. In 1959 BSA released the Mk1 Meteor which was the first air rifle on the market with telescopic sight grooves. The second in the same year was the Mk2 Airsporter. Gone was the turret rear sight replaced with a folding leaf sight. And the tapered barrel was dropped (sadly). The rotating tap lever was slimmed down as well. Interesting thing about the Mk1 and 2 is the tap opens automatically when the rifle is cocked. Cool.
Is this the inspiration for the Venom Mach 1 that spawned the Air Arms Prosport? Certainly the Falke 90.

I prefer to end on a good note and see improvement. But it happens either way and I've learned not to let a bad shot or even an entire subpar session bring me down. Some days I do better than others--just as in any other skilled activity.

It helps to shoot more frequently!

mounting is critical for consistent readings.
i find the DNT Zulus side rail works very well for the FX v2

So with my testing guns and selling recently I haven't really posted in awhile about this gun. However I keep this gun in my truck and have been really enjoying this gun. Crazy part is even at 13fpe I have had way more DRT than I did shooting FX Hybrids at 40fpe on body shots. I'm not quite sure why but results don't lie. Was shooting it this afternoon in some 5-10mph winds and was pretty fun. Holding 1-2 MIL at 30yds lol. Really makes me think I should be looking for a .177 PCP in the 20fpe range for a pester.

I have a Wolverine R in 177 and there are no tamper screws at all. It's a pleasure to work on. The HP models would be the same. Only the sub 12 models have the tamper gear. Great guns!

That explains a lot! The Mk 3's .22 cal bore is slightly bigger than most. German guns are 5.5mm, older British guns are a true 22/100 of an inch, which math works out to 5.6mm.

Vintage Webley-brand pellets, or "blue tin" Eley Wasps, are true "5.6" ones, and highly prized for old .22 BSA's and Webleys. If you can't find those, a lot of UK shooters find the .22 RWS Superdome is is the best modern pellet for the Mk 3 (I guess RWS's .22 skirts run big, similar to their .177 ones?).

UK forums can be very helpful. Mk 3's are built like tanks and last forever, with the result you still see plenty of posts about them!

Weather permitting, this-coming Saturday, February 1 we’ll be enjoying American style 20 foot pound and 12 foot pound (maximums) field target competitions at the Ranchito Robinson TEXtreme Airgun Sports Global Headquarters Airgun Competitions Complex Venue (RRTASGHACCV, for short). Shooters are welcome to shoot one or two classes if you like, by purchasing one or two score-cards (per shooter) on Saturday.

The focus this weekend being on 20 and 12 foot pound maximum pistols, the course(s) will feature high pistol Troyer difficulties of about 40T for either power-level class. However, any shooter is welcome to shoot any airgun (pistol or rifle) falling within the power limit of whichever class you enter.

That a 40 pistol Troyer translates to about 25 rifle Troyer offers the opportunity for good fun posting high scores with air rifles. Be it a pistol, two pistols, a rifle, two rifles, or a pistol and a rifle, what greater opportunity to increase your shooting pleasure than doubling your trigger-time in friendly competitions?

In that spirit, single scorecards per shooter are $20, and a second scorecard per shooter only an additional $10 ($30 total for two cards). Yes, you may purchase two cards to shoot one gun twice in the same class; however for shooters doing so, only the first scorecard shot on every lane will count toward a coveted Match Winner hat-pin (awarded in any class with at least four entrants).

The practice range will open at 9 AM Saturday morning for sight-in/practice. The shooters meeting will be at 11 AM, with the match starting shortly thereafter.

FT Match Report Arlington Sportsman’s Club 01/25/2025



Welcome to the first ASC FT match report for 2025! And what a great match it was! Scott and I setup the course on Friday afternoon in the sunny but windy conditions, hoping that the weather forecast for Saturday would be the same or better. The course this month was a little different than usual in that it was 68 shots instead of the usual 60, and there were two offhand lanes. Scott told me there would be lots of griping about the offhand lanes, but I told him it would be okay because I would blame him since he was unable to be there. What a swell Asst to the MD; he helps setup and takes any blame during the match!

We had 11 shooters come out today to challenge the 68-shot course in cool Texas temperatures and somewhat uncommon 15mph winds. Once again, Scott put the targets in challenging locations on the course; partially obscured by trees, behind obstructions that cause the shooter to move in the box, and in dark places. The Troyer was 30.4, SD 5.04, Avg Dist 30 yds, and Avg KZ 1.06”. The wind made the course more challenging that 30.4T for sure!

Here are the results for December:
Brian S won Hunter PCP and HOA with 64/68 shooting his FX Crown (that he just rebuilt the previous day), followed by Billy D in 2nd with 62/68 shooting his FX Crown, and then Rick Cuccio in 3rd with 61/68 shooting is FX Royale. Weird, that’s three FX’s in the top 3. I don’t know if that has happened before. Everyone else was in a single-entry class today. Jerry C shot 43/68 in Unlimited with his FX Crown .22cal rifle. Rick K was unchallenged in Hunter Piston again with 44/68 shooting his HW97K, Jim Byrd made a quick switch to his pistol when his FX Impact started leaking before the match and shot 31/68. I finished up the entries with 50/68 in WFTF PCP with my NJR100 that I’m getting more comfortable with. Scott already has the results uploaded, so take a look at https://airgunshoot.com/ that shows the average score on each lane, your score on each lane, your hit percentage by lane or near/mid/far targets, how you compare to your class average, your class winner, and the HOA winner. Thanks to Scott Cotton for his continuing work on this.

Thanks to everyone for helping take down the course, it was very much appreciated, and thanks for coming out for what turned out to be a very enjoyable first FT match for 2025. Our February match will be on the Saturday February 22nd.
