Snowpeak  P700 sa

I just got a PP750 from these guys. They have the 700 too.
https://www.mundilar.net/en/air-pis...tol-artemis-pp700s-a.html#/caliber-4_50mm_177
I'm a fan of the 750! Follow up shots are quicker than my 700...
The single shot mode was why I switched to a mag fed gun… I was missing opportunities at multiples, other than that a seriously deadly close range pistol…

Taipan  New Taipan Vet 2, .22, long

I only get a POI shift when removing and replacing the moderator.

When comparing the vet 700 barrel to my RAW LRT barrels the Vet just seems to flex a greater amount when I push on it. The vet shoots really well and doesn’t shift POI as long as I do my part.
@igolfat8 Understood. Thanks for elaborating.

PCP then springer?

I can definitely see that. I can absolutely appreciate the simpler springers and the joy of knowing it's more skill than tech. Ive never had a quality springer so really don't even know what I'd be getting in to
I would say if you're planning on shorter distances 50 and under, a quality springer is the way to go especially if you're on a budget.

Skout  Epoch vs Evo

Besides the diferences in the electronics, there are no differences between the platform other than the form changes. I actually prefer the Epoch. It is a bit taller which I like. Also as a lefty the Epoch has the high pressure regulator gauge on the right side of the gun, making it easier for me to track. The entire upper of the gun (all of the colored parts) are shared between both the Epoch and the Evo.

HW/Weihrauch  What a difference a seal makes.

Over the years I bought a few dozen seals from ARH. The first few were failures as I really didn’t have a clue on how to fit a seal. I’m still no master at fitting them but have gotten a lot better. I’ve tried two ways to fit them, turning them down in a lathe and sanding the face down. I think the lathe does a better job but the face sanding is much easier and requires no tools.

Gx cs4 air compressor

You don't need to change all the water out, but remove at least half to 3/4 of what's in that water tank and replace with water wetter.

Just remember, if you're in a climate where the compressor could freeze, be sure to have enough anti-freeze in it instead.
According to the wetter instructions, you should only need a couple cap fulls.

How Do You Seal A Leaking Set Screw Huben Dream Valve?

I am glad to hear it went well for you. Interesting about the plenum to gun connection. That was my first problem. It kept blowing o-rings, 3 times. Finally ended up curing it with a slightly smaller o-ring that fit into the angle better and was completely captured, now no leaks.

I have admit my lack of being able to get a seal inside the plenum is a head scratcher. I am no engineer nor to bright, but I make up for it with persistence.

Hopefully, the new cricket I purchased will follow the path that you have had, no issues. But I still stick to my having ended up with a Dream Valve that isn't quite there yet.

But I am always open to suggestions for things to try. I may complain, but I also like to try and provide a solution for the problem so I'm not just whining.

Thanks again for all your time and help.

Please welcome Macavity Arms to our list of fine sponsors!

It is probably a fairly heavy bit of kit, but i am used to that, my FX Maverick is a featherweight compared to my Epic airguns Two i am shooting currently.

The sad thing is in .177 i will probably have to go with the run of the mill Heavy FX barrel CUZ the factory barrel is pellet and i suspect TJ barrels are too, or maybe they do not deliver anything slug minded in the .177 caliber.

Mind you i have also taken some really nice shotsd with FX barrels, so i am sure i can get some good fun out of them, and in FX a new barrel is cheaper.

A LW barrel for my Two is like 5 - 600 USD, A whole lot more than a FX straw

Are all oilless PCP pumps on amazon the same?

What is and isn’t exactly the same who knows. I believe one thing for sure though. There are like 50 different companies using the same manufacturer to make their products. Identical 🤷‍♂️. Kind of like po Tate o. VS po TAT o. I believe gx is one of if not the major manufacturer over there. Trust buying gx branded items.

Opinions and Observations

I have a Caiman X I paid about $1400 for new, three P35s, an original Avenger, and a Prod (my first and I still like it). Based upon this limited experience I agree that the Caiman doesn't feel exactly like the others. It cocks more smoothly and I think the trigger is a bit more consistent. It is not more accurate than the best of my P35s, however. Both have given me one and only one 200 on the 30 yard challenge. A better shooter would have gotten more, I'm sure. But my point is that at 1/3rd the price a budget gun can equal a more expensive airgun in accuracy. A Stoeger Bullshark is almost exactly the same as a P35 and more widely available. With an inexpensive printed moderator they are very backyard friendly and they are not very loud with the baffles they come with. But the baffles shift and get dinged by pellets so I think a moderator, especially when they are so reasonably priced, makes them a no brainer choice. A P35X is a similar gun with a longer barrel, a much bigger plenum, and a wood stock. The Bullshark and both varieties of the P35 are made by Snowpeak (aka SPA). SPA also makes the Zellos the very similar M60b and Notos. I think the Zellos is the only SPA airgun with an externally adjustable regulator. The others all have regulators that can be adjusted but some disassembly is required. On the other hand, the hammer spring of my P35s is much easier to adjust than the hammer spring in my Avenger. The main reason I prefer SPA guns to my Avenger is they don't use plastic to support the shroud and seem to generally use better materials overall. I think I saw a review the other day of a higher priced PCP with a plastic trigger but in general better materials also seems to come with a higher pricetag.

So, in short, I suggest you look at the M60b, Zellos, P35, Bullshark and P35X. All are in your price range new. I am pretty sure you would enjoy any of them.

Hatsan  tearing down your gun for the first time

Who am I to dampen you excitement eh? 🙂

There's nothing like the pucker-factor of disassembling something expensive and hearing: spriong, ping, tick, tick, tick and having no idea of what got launched. 😁

As long as we have fun - right!

Cheers!
🤣🤣🤣 That is so true. I love it. I do love to make life harder for myself it seems.

Thanks and no dampening here. I truly appreciate your taking the time to respond and give out good advice. I do limit my destructive tendencies to projects that I am fairly confident of successfully completing. I'll learn my lesson one of these days and you'll see me on here begging for someone to help me out of a situation that I put myself into. 😭 Hopefully it never comes to that.

Thanks again, airgunutty
