Watch out Tuxing twin cylinder

If you get a new Tuxing Twin be aware the electrical plugs need work they are very loose. Make sure each wire plug is crimped tightly as when they come from the factory they may need to crimped a little tighter. A loose fit will arc , and burn. My model the TXED012 Had very loose wires. Just use pliers to crimp , and tighten up the wire connections. Use Seco lube 500 oil , and use distilled water with antifreeze , and something like Royal Purple Purple Ice , or Water wetter for the cooling system. Some guys on the Nation used a dual water pump set up one for each cylinder. I'm using a Walmart 40 gal tote with a 20 gal water supply , but I live in Tucson Arizona one of the hottest places on Earth lol. Even when filling my 6.8L it only reaches 120°F. The cooler these machines the better. OldVetView attachment 568550View attachment 568550
This exactly happened with my Hatsan Lightning and now all the switches have to be rewired… Will get it fixed as a spare…🙏

Other  Who repairs vintage Walther springer airguns.

A few random notes:

+ Walther never made a recoilless springer (though the LGV is so heavy it comes close). They went straight to a single-stroke pneumatic action with the legendary LGR sidelever in 1974...a rifle so good, they ended up shrinking the UIT 10M target!

+ With all the Walther LG 53 / LG 55 / LGV / LGV Spezial line, perhaps the trickiest part of a rebuild is the auto sliding safety which is kinda like one of those Chinese wire puzzles! Another odd touch is the stock-mounted spring which holds the cocking link in place; on the 55 it's a coil spring so tiny you might miss it, but a sturdier leaf type on the LGV.

+ The LGV's big change was the superb smooth breech locking lever, which enabled use of a heavier barrel sleeve. It says a lot about its quality to note that it was introduced - and apparently sold well - in 1968; a few years after FWB, Diana, and Anschutz all had recoilless rifles on the market.

+ The LGV series traded the hand checkering of earlier models for stippling, but to me the lovely rounded "Olympia" stock is the most elegantly styled and ergonomically perfect ever on a match rifle. It's my favorite Walther.

+ Walther made changes so often that it's hard to distinguish models just by looking: The early LGV had the "Olympia" stock, but later went to the more squared up "UIT" stock. The LGV Spezial continued the UIT wood, but later went to a deeper stock, and a heavier action with milled scope grooves instead of the welded rail. In other words...an early Spezial looks more like a late LGV, than it does a late Spezial!

+ The double counter-wound mainspring and some trigger mods were the Spezial's distinguishing changes. The length, diameter, and wire size of the spring are identical to that in the FWB 300S.

+ These all use 25mm piston seals. I rebuilt both my LGV's with Weihrauch seals on steel adapters and they work perfectly.

+ Photo top to bottom: LG 55T, early LGV Olympia, early LGV Spezial. All three have a 15mm diameter barrel; the 55 wears a 19mm sleeve, and the LGV's a massive 23.5mm one. Note the different diopter sights: well-known rounded pattern on the 55; upgrade steel one on the LGVO; later alloy model on the LGVS.

Those are absolutely lovely examples, a very attractive timeline photo.

On taking a knife to a gun fight

This weekend Mrs. Chukar and I went to the ranch we manage to get some chores done and have some R&R.
For her that means reading and Facebook. For me it means air guns and running my pointers.
I usually make a tour of the place in the morning and then again in the evening with the side by side buggy just to see what kind of wildlife I can see. I used to throw the Maverick Compact 25 in for pests and plinking.
This weekend I took two guns with me. My FX Cutlass and my M3 600mm 30. Out here you never know what you will see out banging around. Last year I was able to shoot a badger with my Panthera Compact 30 and it was my truck gun until I converted one of M3’s to a 600mm 30.
For some reason I put the Cutlass 22 in For this run. I decided to go to the pond and make one last look for my spare Cutlass mag that the grandkids lost two weeks ago.
I stepped up on the dam and was looking through the weeds when some movement across the pond caught my eye. About 50 yards out I could see a coyote head coming through the grass and weeds on the other side of the pond. I froze and watched. In short order 3 more coyotes joined the first. I assumed they were coming down to get a drink. Was gonna be a good show.
Of course the Cutlass was in the buggy 70 yards away and it is not a coyote gun in my opinion.
I heard them enter the cattails at the upper end of the pond and listened to them playing in the water for about 5 minutes. Then all 4 came out on the bank and started playing like puppies. I was kicking myself for not having the 30 with me. All of this happened within 50 yards of me and I was straight downwind of them.
After they left I decided not having the 30 was not a big deal as the show was enough for me today. However, next weekend early one morning the Lucky Duck E caller and the Mw3 will revisit the place if the wind is right.
I love to carry my Airforce Condor 22 cal with 17 inch barrel 39 grain at 1050...But when i pull the trigger on game i usually wish i had my .510 Texan...No subistute for a big hole..It is too big and stupid to carry around all the time..Even shooting possums and koons foxes at 80 plus yards i perfer .510...

Airforce  Is Airforce Talon .177 (no P, no SS) backyard friendly if I tune it down to 700-750 fps ?

Could I ask that is your condor D series ? Does it have Ring loc system? I look at Af website and only standard, E series mention about ring loc system. D series doesn’t mention this feature, I found a condorSS 177 video even with lowest power wheel with 10,3gr pellet it still breaks sound barrier.

I bought a D series Condor from the AF website on their July 4th deal. And I bought an E series Condor SS anout s month ago.

The D series came with the fill nipple on the bottle and the ability to swap out the transfer ports (Ring Lok). Ie a D series can be filled without removing the bottle from the gun. I understand that even earlier than D versions require the bottle to be removed to fill.

My E series is the same, fillable with bottle on the gun, and accepts the Ring Lok transfer port swaps. The difference between E and D is that the E accepts standard AR grips, while the D does not. Also, the E has some polymer (plastic) frame supporting components in front of the trigger.

Supposedly the E has an improved trigger over the D, but they both feel about the same to me.

Underwater leak test, DON'T!

Nothing the CRC doesn’t corrode if left on. There is usually not much residue, but IPA or microfiber damp with water cleans it off.
I bought a can of the CRC and I found the leak in my Leshiy Classic which had been driving me crazy for a year. Took under 5 minutes - wish I had done it sooner.

Quieter than quiet GK1?

In case it’s not clear from the picture, any advice on good scope mounts? The goofy arrangement here has somehow held zero so far… but definitely needs something proper!

The gun makers insist on making rails that waste our money (because they make them in 2 or more standards: picatinny, dovetail, and then some.... 🤦🏻‍♂️)

Instead of buying both picatinny and also dovetail rings and/or mounts — I finally decided to only buy picatinny rings/mounts — and buy adapter rails: dovetail-to-picatinny adapter rails.

The photo shows my GK1 with the EagleVision adapter rail, it's 5.9" (15cm) long.
It's well made. Not cheap.
And there are China versions that are more economical.

Right now my GK1 wears a Leopold RDS dot sight that gives me a very small 1 MOA dot — good for longer range shots at low ilumination level.
It's a very quick shot....
This dot sight comes with finger-adjustable turrets for my longer shots.
A 1MOA dot and adjustable turrets are both rare to find in a dot sight — both together almost impossible. 😃

KARMA, Donny & Saber Walk Into A Bar…

Yo, Mullet Man! We're both stoked... I like the original version better than the new design. I don't think they could get any more accurate either. As you know, they're tack drivers! I might spring for a new version in .22 though, just to give it a shot. You know I love DonnyFL and Saber Tactical too! Props to you and the new business! I'll give you a call. Have a great weekend bro!

FX  SHP plenum compatible with DRS Tactical!

I won't deny the good looks of a nice wood stock, nor the PITA that the angled gauge becomes when wanting to remove the stock.

In my use, I've set the reg pressure using the angled gauge, and then removed it. Problem solved. If I need to re-adjust the reg, I'll re-install the angled gauge.
I agree completely but this is on the drs tactical. You don’t need to remove the angled gauge to adjust reg or hammer spring. Also this is adding much more plenum volume. I only have the reg at 98 right now and have the 21g javelins zooming at 950fps

FWB  A FWB 55P in parts.

Congrats ....so far at least it is working
Actually, it works now. I couldn't leave it in limbo until next weekend, so I had to try to see if there was hope. After some adjustment of the firing spring screw and the choke screw, it started to cycle fairly steadily. I suspect the muzzle velocity is a bit low, it sounds a bit limp, but the most important thing is that it has actually been brought back to life. :)
Now I have peace of mind and can leave it for a few days until I get my chronograph and can make the final adjustments. (y)

Air Venturi  Avenger X effectively unregulated

Without snap ring pliers you cannot get to the belleville washer area of the regulators I have worked on but you should be able to replace the O-rings on the piece that you screw in and out to adjust the regulator. On my Huma and SPA regulators the O-rings are the same size on that stem and on the stem that holds the belleville washers. So you could see if you have some and, if not, order them.

The new Huma in my Caiman stopped working right after I got it. It had been assembled with blobs of silicone grease on the belleville washers and none on the O-ring for the adjustment stem. Cleaning the belleville washers and putting a little silicone grease on the O-ring on the adjustment stem was all it needed. It still works fine. But on a regulator that has a few years on it I think it's a good idea to replace all the smaller O-rings. The ones holding and sealing it to the airtube have held up fine in mine so far.

Any Moderator quick release adapters? (i.e. Similar to Donny QD - Quick Disconnect)

Yes
I emailed HUMA about these a while ago asking about how precise the mounting system is.
My question concerned putting a front sight on a moderator and I wanted to know if alignment would be accurate enough to remove & replace the mod as needed.
The fine folks at HUMA thought it might work but had never tried.

I may get around to trying this some day
Has anyone else done so?

just my too sents

Shelleen posting for Brink

We had to cancel all our early matches this year because of the bad weather so our May match was the first match of the season for us. We finally had a scheduled match day where it wasn't freezing, snowing or pouring down rain.
