FX  Need general advice on tuning PCP

FX 25.39 - which I think is exact same pellet as JSB Exact King 25.39
You are spot on with 100 bar on the reg. Should sweet spot them right around 900. I tune opposite as some. I choose the reg pressure then on the Maverick turn the internal HS screw clockwise almost all the way in. Start at a very low spring tension and gradually work it up until the velocity peaks and doesn’t go up anymore. At that spot you have a great balance between HS and reg pressure. It’s easy to over shoot that spot a little so once you get close you can tweak it in very small increments to find it perfectly. I always did my tune on power wheel 7 so then you can dial down if you want to. My experience with the maverick and wildcat BT is they don’t perform all that consistently off that sweet spot. You might get one maybe 2 drops on the big power wheel. After that the extreme velocity spread goes all to hell. 100 bar should put you right around 900 on a really good tune with 25.39

Air Arms  TX200 or TX200HC? - For Accuracy & Quiet

I see you dropped the coin on the new Ultimate Springer version. Let us know how you like the stock.
So far I really like the stock....I plan on using JFK for a bench rifle and having the adjustable cheek piece was a big help. After playing with it a little yesterday using different make 10 grain pellets it appears to like the H&N 4.52, H&N 4.50, JTS and one other I have written down. I had speeds ranging from 713 with all the way to 760 depending on the pellet used. Very consistent shot spread with the pellets.

This is a stock rifle I have done nothing to it except clean the barrel.

Testing will continue after the Worlds is done here. Starting today Barbara and I will be at the range every day helping out.

N/A  Who got there Barra 250z in yet....???

I thought it had a metal magazine and I read that Barra was going to have even all the parts available yet this year.. so I would think you could directly contact Barra for spare magazines.
Mark
Couldn’t find them on their site or Pyramids, they’re probably out there somewhere, I’m not the most patient person, besides I like CARM magazines.
I also saw Big Air(?) 15 shot magazine on the GTA, looks like a another good option for mags, 5 more shots than stock mag.

11/7/24 hunt

You will like it, the bolt slicks up really nice after break in I actually like it just as well as my side levers after I got it broken in. Only thing I dont really care for is the safety on the left side of receiver hard to reach around and flick off and its fairly stiff. They should put it at back of receiver like Daystate has theirs. If you have long fingers likely will not be a issue, while I have fairly big hands they are thick with short fingers and can not reach around receiver.
I'll give it a run & report back. I'm leaning more towards "traditional " airguns than the tactical stuff anymore . Wood is nice & I don't mind the bolt(s).

Does sizes matter? Lengh

Ok guys thanks I was thinking going to 500mm. I own an fx impact 600mm and it's kinda long. Wanted to know if going to 500mm I will lose accuracy or not. I'm not trying to follow all those high power tune you see on youtube. I plan to shoot .22 15gr and 18gr jsb at about 800 fps. And also plan to shoot up to 100 yards on pest. So if 500mm barrel can still be accurate to hunt up to 100 yards, I'll order a 500mm barrel

FX  M4 help!

Folks are right. Your stock hammer isn't strong enough. How do you know? First set your reg to a point. Example set reg to 100. Then set valve pass line 4. Set power wheel to 16 and micro to 5. This means your spring tension on the hammer is Max out and valve is also max. That leaves you the reg. Fire about a few shots at 100 bar. Then slowly increase the reg until you don't see a climb in fps. That will let you know what your hammer wight and spring is capable of at what reg pressure. If you achieved your desire speed than you are good. If not then you will need a heavier hammer to open the valve at higher pressure.

A proper bench

great design
Table was designed to be able to be taken down and packed in truck..there were 5 of us and gear for 5 days of hunting prarie dogs in western north dakota. So 5 tables and gear in truck. Table takes 10 min to set up with a 9/16 wrench. Provides a stable shooting platform with cross braces. Turn seat aroung a move all the way up and top is weatherproof.

Taipan  Taipan Veteran 2 .25 550mm stock tune?

Not sure if this helps being I have the .25 V2T with a 700mm barrel. But when I talked to Taipan about their regulators, they told me they send them out at 135bars because they found that to be the best all around setting for air consumption and energy. They made no distinction between barrel lengths.

As far as slugs, I’ve been having good luck with Zan 37’s using the single shot loader. Haven’t used the mags yet.

Brian
Thank you for the comment. Yes, I recently bought a .22 Standard version 1 and the regulator was set to 135 bars as well. The .22 Long I bought 4 years ago had the regulator set closer to 150 bars.

HW/Weihrauch  HW35 Leather Piston Seal Assembly

Gents, I appreciate your continued input on this! You bring up some interesting points, but it appears to me:

+ The latch rod is in as far as it will go - plus, it's anchored by a hefty pin that goes completely across the piston body.
+ The seal is likewise socked down as far as possible. I was able to turn the nut "out" a bit, but it won't go "in" any farther than where it started.

In spite of this gun's age (built 1980!), to the best of my knowledge what you see is unaltered factory work. I got it in 1988, from a batch of new guns damaged by a flood in a retail shop (stock finish was a mess but metal fine). It was owned for decades by a friend of mine who probably never put 1000 rounds through it. And he's not an "airgun guy" at all - I'm the only one who's ever poked around inside it, and only to fool with lubes and swapping mainsprings. I'm a bit amazed at how new the guts look.

FX  went down the rabbit hole new FX M4 .25

Don't look at this thread . . .

I could really care less about the negative B.S. to each there own if this gun blew up in my hands i will just buy another one that simple.
